I have read a few times that Dex-amphetamine and Meth-amphetamine have affinities for the alpha2 receptor, but i cannot find what affinities, or if they are agonist or antagonist.

Does anyone know ?

^^^me too. I'm sure they bind to alpha-adrenergic receptors, the question is whether they do it at behaviorally relevant concentrations.

I believe it is mentioned in the cooper et al book, though I do not have a copy of the book at the moment.

But if memory serves, it is an antagonist, which makes sense.

Amphetmaine hits up the alpha2 receptor with affinity around 1uM, so it doesn't really matter one way or the other whether it's an agonist or antagonist.

Sorry, my post should have had afterwards, at pharmacologically significant concentrations.

That's me though, lazy & sloppy!
