I am having such bad pain in my tonsils and lymph nodes and I am sure it is a bacterial infection.

I only have 4 full days of meds left - and it will take 2 and a half to 3 days to be able to see a doctor and get more.

Will me having started taking them help me get another script? I refuse to suffer any longer.

Q: did you try webMD?
A: won't work on my phone. I don't have desktop Internet at the moment.

Frankly I already took it in the past for what the doctor later deemed to be an allergic reaction. It wasn't necessary to finish the round of antibiotics and that's why I ask you all what I should do.

If it were me, I'd take em and try to get a jump start, but I'm no doctor. I do currently have a throat/ear/sinus infection of mysefterious origin. I'm currently on my third different antibiotic. It sucks.

I am sure it is a bacterial infection.

Have you run a culture to determine that?

For typical cases of tonsilitis, amoxicillin is probably overkill:

The overwhelming majority of people recover completely, with or without medication. In 40%, symptoms will resolve in three days, and within one week in 85% of people, regardless of whether streptococcal infection is present or not.

It wasn't necessary to finish the round of antibiotics

Why? Did you "get better", then stop taking them? That's a no-no. If you take antibiotics, you finish them all...

Nitpicking aside, if you go to a doctor they should have no real issues extending your therapy to a proper 2 week or whatever course, if you start taking them now. If the amoxicillin doesn't give you any relief after about ~48 hours of taking it continuously, it's probably either resistant or not bacterial.

Either way, talking about getting Rx's is forbidden. Even if it's amoxicillin.

See a doctor as soon as you can.
