amnesia on alcohol ?!

anyone got that? the weird thing is that it happens mostly when i have too much whiskey (it happens with other drinks but in minor proportions...) - i go to a club, drink a lot, and then do stuff i'd normally do, talk to my friends, score girls, i even come home driving afterwards (not too smart i know), and then i wake up and i'm like "wtf have i done last night?" - then I have to call someone and hear the whole story - and most of the times they say I behaved normal, not acting like I was too drunk and stuff (as not to the point of vomiting). I mean, on alcohol people usually have some ocasional blanks, but the whole night freaks me out (ok not the whole nights, usually I remember til its like 1am :) ). It doesnt happen all the times tho, it just some special nights....
Everybody talks about xtc and other drugs neurotoxicity, how toxic is that to my brain anyway??
 
Hehe, I have made many acquaintances while drunk that I have completely forgotten. I live in a semi-small city where it is not uncommon to bump into friends on the street. I am not suprised when people come up and talk to me, even calling me by name, that I have absolutely no idea who they are, where I met them, what I said to them.
"Hey *** I saw you the other night!"
me: "Umm Ok"
"Yeah, fuck you were drunk".
After a night drinking with my friends it is common practice for us to regroup somewhere and hope that between the 6 of us we have 1 complete account of the night.
It's scary - someone could accuse me of something I had done while drunk and I would have no defence!

Yeah...sure is a good thing that alcohol is a "safe" and legal drug that is endorsed by the government. What I really hate is ppl that preach about the evils of drugs and drug users, than say "Hey man, lets go get really drunk!" Stupid War on Some Drugs!

yea man, I do some stupid shit when I'm drunk...most of the time I don't remember any of it and I deny it when my buddies tell me the next day. Honestly, alky is a lot more dangerous for girls than many illegal drugs...
off the record - drunken hookups can be scary, i mean i'd fuck a goat if it looked like a girl when shitfaced!!!

No it is not EXTREMELY common to blackout on alcohol...sure it happens to people once or twice. However, constant blacking out from alcohol has been proven to be a sign of alcoholism.
