Misc Amitryptaline + Valium

I was wondering if anybody knows if its safe enough to take 20mg of valium over the day, I have just started the tricyclic anti-depressant amitryptaline at 20mg dosage before bed day 3.

Just checking if its safe, cheers.

It is low enough doses to probably be safe so long as the diazepam is spread out. I'm not that familiar with tricyclics (though no obvious deadly contraindications spring to mind) however CNS depression could be exacerbated so avoid the heavy machinery and driving until you've at least tried it and having a friend nearby would be a bonus. Couldn't hurt to call a pharmacist and get their views as well.

they will actually work great together, the tricyclic anti-d will get rid of depression even at that lowish dose and the diazepam will kill anxiety.. you should feel great with the two IMO

^Probably yes, although you may be pretty sedated (I know the TCAs are pretty sedating for some people).
