This story is from a couple of years back and i've only just started to try think why it happened.
I had assumptions but with this place existing i thought it'd be interesting to hear other peoples takes on it... anyhoo...
My sleep troubles had got to the point where i'd gone to the doc. for help.
He gave me either 25mg or 50mg Amitriptyline tablets which helped a little bit. Definitely one of the better TCA's for the job.
I'd been taking it for a week or two when one day my mate (A) rang me asking if i wanted to go to the pub with some of the kru and have a smoke at another mate's house (B) before and after.
I happily accepted and messed about on the net until the time was closer...
Whilst stinting the net i came across one of those "trip wonkers" that causes twisty hallucinations for a few seconds after staring at something like this:
but it was animated more so
messed about with that for a while and then caught a lift over to B's.
we had a few spliffs and nattered for a while then set off to the pub, a short walk from his house.
we got there and like all pubs it was full of tossers. as soon as i stepped in i got the nasty all over cringe feeling of social anxiety.
got a pint and tried to shrug it off but what made it worse was a tv screen above our heads with a footy match going on. so as a result loads of people where facing our way watching the tv which added to the anxiety drastically...
i sat there sipping this pint feeling fucking awful, every silence was painstaking, every sip of the pint made the whole scenario seem ever more fake. i kept thinking "what the hell am i doing here? this all seems so pointless".
eventually we left to go back to B's house. everyone broke out spliffs again so there was pretty much one each (sillysilly
)
about 3/4 thru my spliff i started feeling really hot and panicy again. not as intense as at the pub but enough to be hampering.
then, all of a sudden, i started hallucinating
it was very reminiscent of acid actually. warped faces with caricaturistic features.
i thought for a second was it just a trick of the light, so i got up and went and sat the opposite side of the lamp.
still the eye candy was present so i put down my spliff and rode it out.
it did end eventually and i've never had it happen again. which makes me think it's a chemical mixture deal and not psychosis of any kind.
Would the mix of leftover Ami in my system, weed and beer be able to cause such a thing?
Could it have been panic related?
