Misc Amitriptyline?

what is Amitriptyline like as far as the effects of it on cognition ? anyone whos used it, preferably in tiny doses, does it lift mood? does it cause sedation? hunger? what can you say about it as far as an add on treatment.
 
were you able to think clearly still, or clearer? did it cause cognitive impairment, did it change your mood?
 
I used it as a sedative, 40mg to 50mg before bedtime and I could sleep as late as I wanted. My doc wanted me to take 10mg - 30mg. Thought was great!
 
I was prescribed it as a sleep aid. It wasn't very helpful to me. It gives an anticholinergic effec, like diphenhydramine. It feels a little different than benadryl. I suppose it leveled out my mood somewhat, and increases appetite. But it won't have much of an antidepressant effect at low doses, you have to go up to around 150mg for that.
 
i was given them by the doctor end up eating the packet in a week the that weak now with me . got mirtazapine 15mg now that stuff is a bit like mxe was with me a wonder drug sleeping deep n sound great dreams dnt wake up all hungover and no waiting weeks for the affects to take place . plus instead of taking more than the doc says i can get away with half a tablet instead of a full one
