Amitriptyline as Meth comedown aid-Safe?

What's up BL, I recently acquired some Amitriptyline tablets. The 50mg ones to be exact. Now my question is would it be OK to dose some of these (Idk 50-100mgs) after crashing from Methamphetamine?

I don't have a tolerance to this drug but I've read its a antidepressant of some sort but also used commonly as a sleep aid in some individuals?

Now are the SSRI properties of this drug dangerous if mixed with a stimulant like speed? Or would be a decent a sleep aid?

I know its a SSRI and maybe a stupid question but again I'm unfamiliar with this drug and don't have any benzos or opiates with me so kind of my only option.

Haven't dosed any speed yet but just asking for future reference, would I risk SS from combination? Anyway yeah thanks in advance BL. Appreciated as always.
 
It's a tricyclic and I've used it before to help me sleep. Don't take more than 50 mg to start with and you should be alright tonight
 
So no severe reactions? & Yeah I read that term followed by antidepressant next to it so I figured it could produce Serotonin Syndrome mixed with speed no? If you say so though sounds good. Yeah I'll only do 50mgs I've read experience reports on Erowid of users doing 250-300mgs etc and blacking outsdoing some stupid shit (lol reminded me of ambien)

But overall how do you feel about it as a sleep aid? Thanks for your response btw
 
When I first started using amitriptyline, it worked great for sleep. But 50 mg turned into 75 then 100. You see what I'm saying, you get used to it and it loses it's magic after time and it wears off. Some side effects I felt I wanted to eat before crashing and then in the morning maybe light headed and feeling like I hadn't slept enough.
 
Ok got you no doubt but just to be clear NO chance of SS?

I keep wanting clarification because during the one time I legitimately ODd on Meth, I was also simultaneously in speed psychosis & received SS and it was a traumatic experience in the end. Nightmares still haunt me to this day.

So yeah..It scares me lol so low dose is a OK in the 50mg range after taking a stim?
 
It's good to be concerned, once you had a bad experience like that. I can't say with certainty that it won't happen because there is a possibility. Damn wish I could be more helpful. I was using an appetite suppressant with this at one time (my doctor had prescribed them both together) and I wondered why my head was hurting so bad. You just can't be sure.
 
Hmm yeah nah no worries. I understand no definite answer mixing stims and antidepressants. Make sense honestly. But it does worry me so I'll research some more and maybe I might take one when I come down.

Honestly as long as I'm not in a 9 day psychosis which I won't there's no way even if I get SS that it'll be as traumatic as that.

Thank you for you help though at least you did with some success so yeah I'll think about it. I'll post back with details tonight when I get some speed well tomorrow morning haha
 
Anyone? Never ended up dosing it cause I still worry about SS. I'm coming down now, I wanna use 50mgs but I wanna make sure first.
 
Thank you! Well I know its not safe in a general sense of "uppers n downers" but your response sealed the deal. I feel better now, even though I about dealed with the comedown on my own without sleep at this point lol. Regardless good to know, I'll probably end up taking tonight anyway to sleep since I haven't in 2 days yet. Heart palpitations stopped though which is how I personally tell my stim comedown is about over, at least the harsh parts anyway.

Now I know its no Opiate, but does it actually make you feel good in anyway? Not like euphoria in a sense obviously not its a antidepressant but does it kind of take the edge off a meth comedown? Or is it strictly a quick knockout sleep aid that'll make you tired?

Not expecting a whole lot from a antidepressant but I'm unfamiliar with the whole Amnitryptic classification. Like whether it provides more effects than your average SSRI or if its all the same.
