Misc Ambiens effects not lasting long?!?

I just recently started getting proscribed ambien but only the 5mg. I have been snorting 4(20mg) at a time and It does make me high but it only seems to last about 10-15min then I feel sober again. Am I just not taking enough or does it just not last very long? Please help I needs to know.
 
Taking Ambien (especially snorted) does not last long at all.

I also noticed tolerance builds extremely quick with Ambien, once again especially snorted.

Then how do you recomend taking them? And is there anyway to take them to make the high last longer?
 
I have pretty severe insomnia so I had ambien prescribed a while back. It did absolutely nothing for me. I couldn't sleep with the prescribed those and I would not get any sort of trip or high from 30+mg. I must say that it beats the hell out of Lunesta IMO. That has the most God-awful taste for several hours even after I wake up.Good luck with figuring it out, though. I'd be interested in hearing about it.

You should take them orally, and no, you can't make the drug last longer, sorry. If you take them orally the effects will be longer in duration, but not for the duration you are probably desiring.

There are many benzodiazepines with a much longer duration of effects.
 
I don't know, from the way I had been reading about ambien I guess I just assumed the high lasted longer than 10min, kinda disappointing. I mean the high is really good I kinda hallucinate, but I expected it to last longer. But ya I guess if want a longer high I could go buy some Xanax or Ativan.
 
I haven't looked in a long time, but if I remember correctly, then taking ambien orally is supposed to last like two or three hours. That's a problem with it for some people with insomnia. It might help them fall asleep but doesn't keep them asleep.

What kind of high are you looking for from this medication? Are you wanting the hallucinations? If I ever noticed anything from recreational doses was that lights looked different (I was outside at night) and the beems of light seemed slightly more vivid
 
ambien never lasts long for me. i only take it orally and its the one drug i can actually take and be sober from within a few hrs. never really helps me sleep, just fucks me up for an hr or 2.
 
The trick with ambien if you gotta sleep is take it and get to bed within an hour from my small experience with this drug. My mother has been using this for many years and drinks vodka with it. Next, ambien amnesia happens and I've heard many stories of people who use it along with alcohol and completely black out. Not that I would suggest doing this, but just saying alcohol makes the effects much stronger ~theresa
 
I'm not really looking for anything specific from this drug I was just wondering why it didn't seem to last very long.
 
it's just a short acting drug so there really isn't anything that i know you could do. snorting pills is going to make the duration even shorter and since your pills were only five mgs, that means that each one is probably going to have a lot of binders and that could block most of the medicine from getting through
