Ambien

I remember (sort of) the first time i took ambien. . . I couldn't walk straight; kept running into walls and such. I also remember a really euphoric feeling... kind of like being really drunk without the nausia ..or really high without the paranoia. Ambien fucks with your short term memory, which is why i don't remember very much about this experience, just that i was running into walls and couldn't talk straight and was really high

Even though the so called trip yuo can get on ambien(and not all can get this) is like a deleriant trip, you are also not having those freaky thoughts in the same way because it is a gaba drug after all, so kills anexiety to some degree. I love ambien for sleep, and I stay up maybe 1,5 hours after I take it and smoke myself retarded. I like to fall asleep very quickly, I have a fobia of being in bed awake, because of my insomnia over the years. And I find the z-drugs(ambien/zopiclone/sonata)'s tolerance goes up fast, but it goes down again quickly too. Thats me though.

Peace

i did two 10mg ambiens last night, i was using my computer when all of a sudden...my keyboard is overgown with vines and there are many people in my room, two little girls dancing about and giggling and several undefined figures walking all over my stuff, my computer morphed into a very bright organic looking thing and the auditory hallucinations started to overwhelm me, i think i'll do it again tonight (i don't build up tolerance, even after three days of use i still get the same effects, i feel a little shitty when i get up the next day though)

Oh, Ambien. Good ol' Zolpidem Tartrate

...crept up on me from no where. Couldnt sleep one night, mom gave me a 5mg tab. slept like a darling child, got my own script for 5mg. Gradually moved up to 10 as i realized, "wow, you can get some pretty profound hallucinations and some scattered plateaus of contemplation in there before you stumble into an unbearable drowsiness and eventually pass out!"

Fast forward two years later. I'm off ambien. It fucked with my cerebellum in ways in which I will never be able to understand, though Im familiar with as much as we know about its method of action as working selectively on the GABA complex in the brain.

Ambien hangovers are terrible, and typically last a full day during my latter days of abuse. Doses in excess of forty milligrams have been reached, in combination with alcohol; I know what it is like to wake up with an empty bottle, which was previously filled to the brim as a crisp new prescription and having to explain myself.

My experiences are relatively similar each time, although the visual intensity of the drug decreases rapidly as tolerance develops, and in my case, tolerance seems to be permanant. No more hallucinations; plenty of mental confusion and a terrible time waking up the next morning.

Ambien is a drug that can be used sporadically as a recreational supplement, or regularly for prescribed reasons. Ambien has changed my brain in some inexplicable way. I am prone to tears during "moving and touching" films, and little things like that. Joyous occasions also provoke more prominent tearing than would have been concievable prior to my two-year daily abuse.

My advice, really, is to just stay away from it. The desirable effects are quite disproportionate to the lasting and euphorically-deteriorating effects one experiences after several months of acquaintence with the substance. I'd give a rousing 'thumbs down' to Ambien as a drug for recreation, and a reluctant 'thumbs up' when taken as prescribed. When taken as prescribed, any benzo helps much more than this selective GABA-affective mess of a mass marketed chemical.

Agree or Disagree at your own free will - after all, the above is only worth two cents.

^^

The first few times I did it the next day I actually felt refreshed and full of energy. However for me as the tolerance increases so does the hangover? It's like somnabulism only in the morning I don't know what I did this morning only know I'm bwhinf my computer and should be at school.

I think this drug may be worth doing a few times but that's it once you get a tolerance it's crap.

Ambien is definitely an interesting experience, and tolerance goes up very fast. Although, like K'Out said, it's not a benzo, it's structurally related to some motion sickness pills, I'm blanking on what it is. Anyway, not something I would pick up by choice if given opportunity for something else, but interesting none the less.

Ambien is a drug that intrigues me, I've it taken many times and am still trying to understand the trip it delivers. My personal reccomendation is to combine it with weed, its a fantastic weed high without taking away anything from the ambien trip.

There are several things unique about ambien the first is the way the experience carries with it seemingly little emotion linked to the actual trip, i do seem to experience some mild euphoria on ambien or ambien+weed, though i never fully blackout i never seem to remember the euphoria till im reminded about it from notes i wrote or being told about things i said at the time. However seeing something very trippy like seeing a piece of rubbish on the ground turn into a tiny ship with tiny people on board that sails down a river thats just appeared in the middle of the room doesn't inspire anything like the feelings it would on other pyschedelics, it doesnt feel at all profound or important and great euphoria, rather it produces feelings of fun and interest and thoughts like "wow that was so cool and seeing that happen" so basically its exactly like if i saw those things with a straight mind set. For me this means the experience seems almost as much fun to look back on the next day as when actaully having it, though my seeming inability to remember the euphoria may play a large role in this belief.

Ambein can definetely also make you delerious esp. for short periods of time before you 'snap out' of what your thinking. The only part of the trip i don't enjoy though is when i believe there are other people in the room, this makes me feel somewhat uncomfortable but worse than this is when i feel the voice or 'voices' in my head arent me, like that they are foriegn identities that have high-jacked my mind i find this a bit disturbing but not nearly enough to ruin the experience.

The last thing i want to comment on is the way the drug doesn't seems to respond to deliberatly introduced stimuli, unlike other psychedelics. A couple of times i have tried to do the traditional watch a trippy movie thing thinking if i watch a movie about something my trip will start to incorporate parts of it into it, like watch a space movie and feel like your in space with ambien i found this is never the case, my trips on ambien seem "unshapeable". Also trying to make myself trip seems to prevent me from tripping, i tried to take it in a club and it did nothing at all, the only time i have got effects in public was when i took it fell asleep for an hour then went to the shops forgetting i had taken anything, normally if its not kicking in properly i find i need to lay down and try not to focus on anything before i can start at all tripping.

o''ve done annbbiinnnem mayna taahoiu 40mg goog 500methocarbamol good 5mghydrocodone.....GOOOOOOD!!!

update: did i really type this? and how the hell did i manage to mispell everything but methocarbamol and hydrocodone? i think the post is kinda descriptive of the state ambien puts you in, from what i could tell i was on 40mg of ambien and 5mg of hydrocodone when i posted this.

wonder drug for me

I love this drug. I can't imagine getting through without it sometimes. I often have trouble sleeping and the worry and anxiety of getting to sleep sabotages any natural sleep I could get... makes me wonder if I'll ever be able to function without it. But I agree with "thelung" it really does fuck with short term memory. I should buy some post-its, if I can remember to.

i got a script of 90 of them, 40 were gone in the first 20 hours, damn i was fucked up, vision went like 2d like i could reach out and touch the mountains that were easy 20 miles away, the tree branches would stretch in towards me, i had such hardcore double vision but i was so fucked up so it melted together and it wasnt double vision anymore but like a person stacked like 2 inches high ontop of themselves, it looked really fucked up, hard to describe. definatly a good time, but i ono, it seems to me that its pretty fucking hard to od on ambien if u have been using it for a while, cause i have been doing ambien semi regularly for like 3-4 years.

It's interesting...and high doses in the right circumstances (sleep deprivation visuals present) gives a synergy to the hallucinations and the constant feeling that there's people all around. It's interesting, but expensive (compared to benzodiazepines).

Zopiclone in high doses at the same situation also gave me nice visuals, but it's different from zolpidem...it makes the "sleep dep disturbing visuals" a more peaceful shrooms like experience. I'm not saying it can compare to shrooms in the visuals department, it just changes the direction of the visuals (from sleep dep to better ones).

Can't comment on Sonata coz we don't get them here, but hopefully Lunesta will have some of this unusual characteristics as well. I'm actually looking forward to trying both of them, which sounds kinda sad. ;)

I compare Ambien to shit like Benztropine... anticholinergenic delieriant

I had one prescription for that shit, and now I'm back on Temazepam 10mgs... few of those puppies under the toungue and a couple beers, and its lovely.

They don't mess you up as much the next day, I find.

Oh, and they work allright for getting to sleep - provided you aren't prone to waking when they wear off... luckily my problems are with GETTING to sleep :P

Ahh crap I had so many tablets on friday. Now the bottle is severely wounded (i didnt eat them all... i think...)

*cries*

PS - snorting 10-15mg of Ambien really is quite cool, I wouldn't do it any other way...

Eating those fuckers makes me feel really quite seedy the next day...

Tolerance rises so fast!

Im off to pop some clonidine and temazepam! yey! sleepytime for this lil armadillo

my one experience with ambien failed, thoroughly
i took 20 mg & apparently passed out while talking to someone & woke up in the hospital five hours later having missed all the excitement because they thought i'd had a stroke or something
fortunately managed somehow to explain away my clever loss of consciousness.

^
It's kinda normal to fall asleep or "pass out" with ambien/benzo's this is why I always do them at night and wake up fucked but luckily never in a hospital .

are you a girl? If so you might be more sensitive , try to snort 10 at night , and then smoke a small joint , the only real fun with ambien comes from the visuals , you have to ensiure optimun conditions for these (not eveyrone though some ppl are just lucky ) , you have to be slightly deprived of sleep , in a drak/ dim lit place and smoke a nice little joint.

I've tripped my balls off of ambien
but now i use it to sleep i take it right when i close my eyes.

thanks people
great post...

peace

I have been taking it for about a year now,,, for insomnia. I used to trip off 10mg and get full on visuals and talk to the shadows etc, but i can take 100mg and nothing. I take a break and use Doxepin every so often but they leave me zonked out the next day... So ambien to me used to rock but now just works for sleep and thats it.. boooo.. cause i used to love the stilli trip

"Making people Strong" "Delirant dream state"

is Ambien close to PCP or Ketamine ? (not chemicaly of course, but like does it act the same way when taken on a long perioid of time?) ???

As far as I am aware, ambien only affects the GABA system in your brain.. not the other areas that PCP/ketamine does. I'd like to hear from anybody else also if there are similarities.
