Ambien during the day

So Ambien happens to be one of my favorite drugs of all time to take right before bed if I want to be in some sort of dream land for a little while. For some reason 10-20mg of Ambien makes me trip like crazy. I'll constantly think other people are in the room. Most of the visuals I get are closed eye, but sometimes I'll see different shapes or silhouettes on the wall. Once when I took Ambien I looked at the wall and saw that it was a silhouette of some sort of antique doll store. It was pretty trippy. My boyfriend will always appear different to me. When we're in the dark he'll look like some sort of creature or something. It's pretty wild.

Anyways, to get the point. For some unknown reason my boyfriend and I had an urge to take Ambien during the day today. This is something I have never done before. I took 10mg and he took 20mg. We started walking down to Harvard Square. We both felt like people were constantly looking at us funny. We both just sort of felt like we appeared much dumber than we actually are, I guess it could be because we were moving so slow. I went into this thinking that I would get a lot of my writing done, because for some reason when I'm on Ambien I tend to be extremely creative. This didn't happen, however. We each got a coffee from Starbucks and went to sit down in the yard. Still feeling pretty "weird" we each rolled a cigarette and smoked them. After we were done smoking we needed to go meet someone so we both left. As we were walking I had to tell him to stop because I began to feel very nauseous. I started to throw up, a lot. I am not someone who throws up regularly so this was really weird to me. Trying not to get too graphic, but it was mostly just coffee that was coming up. I kept puking on and off for about a half hour I'd say, and after that I just felt really all around nauseous as if I had a hangover from a night of drinking or something.

After a few hours I was feeling alright again. I guess I'm just curious if anyone knows what could have triggered all of this. Maybe I'm just not used to taking Ambien during the day? When I take it at night it is pretty magical. This was a COMPLETELY different experience.
 
Really? I guess it effects people differently. But when I take Ambien while in bed I feel like I'm on some sort of mystical journey. It's pretty incredible.
 
It certainly does. I know a lot of people who love it (some of them love it so much they got scripts for it).

I prefer regular benzos for daytime sedation and DPH (diphenhydramine) for evening sedation/sleep.
 
yeah its incredible at first.... then loses its magic after a while.... then entirely, especially if you have a benzo-cross tolerance.

same i always just pass out and black out, even at low doses....i mean if i had nothing else then yah i might, but i always, always fucking pass out...sort of pissed me off too because i bought them off the streets and wasted money :|
 
Ambien can be quite psychedelic. I'll have some of the craziest shit happen when I'm on it. I too will feel like people are in the same room as me, like their behind me telling me what to do. I'll get into arguments with them. Mostly, I feel "weird".

Combining the caffeine with the Ambien could easily be the reason you started puking.
 
I have puked from ambien before. Don't know why. Also I am surprised it had such strong effects on you. I have taken 10-20mg during the day in place of xanax and it worked just like xanax but shorter duration.

Yeah it makes me super ambitious too. I always think of these entrepreneurial ideas and just want to get up and start writing my thoughts down. It's almost like I feel like some sort of energy after taking them, but if I close my eyes I'll be out in two minutes.
 
It can be a really great experience between couples/a sexual partner.... I'm not trying to imply that it is a way of taking advantage of a girl at all... but it's pretty wild... when I'll be generous and give my gf a 10mg at bed (she has serious sleeping issues), and we'll usually have sex or her give me dome before bed anyways, but godammn, when little petite baby girl goes to ambien moon safari land, things change a lot. She will act annoying a lot of the time, like stroking my hair in a weird way, continuously asking if "there are people in the room?" but, as long as there is some KY sitting nearby, she'll just non-chalently be down to take it in the ass.

Trying to get her to have anal sex sober is very difficult... since she claims it hurts a lot to get it in (I'm sure it does) and the few times it has happened, she clearly wants to get it over with as quick as possible.

But in Ambien Land there seems to be no pain, just curiosity and pleasure.

to op I think it was the cigarrette tbh. I used to have them heaps and mostly cigs with ambien wasnt a problem but once I had one and for some reason I could hardly walk and felt sick as soon as id finished the cig, before the cig I was fine buzing on it then bam hit me like a truck

1st - I agree with mcwally, it was probably the cigarette... I don't smoke ciggs, just weed, my girlfriend doesn't either, but she likes to take ambien when she has friends over. If her friend smokes after being on the ambien, 80% of the time they puke 15min-hour afterwards.... seems to be something with nicotine and ambien??

2nd- bluntedskier, it is funny he mentions the sexual part -- bc I have a script and take it occasionally for sleep. It has little recreational value to me, probably because of my tolerance to clonazepam. However, it is TOTALLY a way to take advantage of a girl, lol... not that I would, but my g/f does (kinda - they say they are down for anything before the ambien, just too shy really, its a lot like a drunken trip for them) whenever my girlfriend (who is bisexual) has a girl friend over that is cute, she wants to take ambien w/ them, and then they usually spend a couple hours in front of the mirror trying on different clothes and makeup or walking around outside at night and laughing too loud. Eventually they seem to get more and more flirtatious until one of them makes a move and then its like putting a spark to gunpowder - straight to the bed for a 3some.

Remember, these girls DO say they are 'down with anything' IF stuff happens with all three of us or any combination - the ambien usually gets rid of the 'IF' part...

With a girl that hasn't already expressed wanting to be sexual, its almost like asking if they're comfortable with sexual stuff is the same as asking if they want to take ambien... bc if they take it, sexual things WILL likely happen regardless.

However when she takes it alone - she still does the makeup thing but about 50% of the time she ends up being a bitch, or not caring (about ANYTHING), and can't follow logic if she does get mad.

Please do not use this information to take advantage of ANYONE... I simply thought it would be good info for this thread... but if you have a bf / gf (or single and know a couple) and know that someone is interested in a threesome or groupsex or anything, but it is just nerves and inhibitions getting in the way... then by all means, use ambien to help seduce, just make sure the seduction is mutual BEFORE taking ;)

EDIT: don't forget to remind anyone who smokes that they probably do not want to smoke during the ambien trip and that there is a pretty good chance they will puke if they do.

Dude me too! The right dose of any z-drug makes me see dead people.

And purpleglaze, whenever I took Ambien in excess and remained awake and active, I puked. The doses I used were much higher than 10mg though.
