Ambien + Codeine overdose (Help)

Hello,

I have a tolerance to ambien, but never had codeine.

I can't remember how this happened in the slightest, I am shocked, and now very ill. I woke up to empty packet of 15 ambien tablets (150mg), and 600mg codeine. I have no idea how this happened, I didn't mean to take this. I know these are huge amounts, and i've been throwing up, lower back pain, extreme fatigue to the point of difficulty walking to the toilet. My brain is fried and can't think.

I'm really ashamed at myself at how this could happen.

Could there be lasting damage? could I have died? I just want to feel normal again, I'm a wreck...

I'm guessing that this is mostly the fault of the ambien. Benzos (and the related drugs like the z-benzos) are very good at making people black out and lose their memories, and then become very compulsive. Waking up to find all your benzos have disappeared is not an uncommon occurrence =D

The codeine probably played a part too, though it's generally a very week opi, and so it's difficult to say if 600mg is a high or low dose without knowing your tolerance.

I wouldn't be too worried, I don't think there would be any permanent problems, it sounds to me like you just have yourself some nasty hangover/comedown effects. Get hold of some OTC painkillers and some antihistamines to deal with the pain and sickness, and maybe take a day off in bed.

I'm glad to hear this, I have no codeine tolerance at all. Tbh it would have been nice to see what a codeine high actually was (but since I can't remember I won't have a clue). I'm glad it shouldn't cause any lasting damage, just couldn't believe how I felt (and still do) waking up today.
