Hey :)

Amanitas and Psilocybe have different psychoactive substances, so… for who tried them, can you describe the main differences about physical and mental effects? Which one do you prefer?

Did someone already eat 2 of them together?

I tried Philosopher Stones once (truffles of Psilocybe Mexicana), it was so good on the body and mind! It was such a divine day, floating for hours with beautiful colors all around… Then I tried 4-Aco-DMT and it was a completely new experience. When people compare it with mushrooms, they are referring to Psilocybe? Apart from the “waves” of feelings on both trips, they were really different (I found 4-Aco-DMT much more “dominant” on the mind, with more powerful visuals).

I've been interested on trying Amanitas, and I've heard someone saying these ones can lead more easily to bad trips (people tend to get more paranoid). Have no idea if this is true, I want to know your opinion!!!

Have a good week!

There are already some threads about Amanita Muscaria, take a look at this:

I'm not experienced with Amanita yet, but from people I know, it seems to be something you either love or hate, while with Psilocybe most people enjoy.

I have a friend who stopped using anything else after he started with Amanita, he says it's not as stimulant as acid or psilocybe, it's more relaxing.

Then I told him I had heard about people who have nausea or bad experiences with Amanita. He answered:

"Don't believe it. Few people have tried real Amanita, there's no nausea with them. It's a really intense trip, though you don't feel euphoric."

Again, I don't want you to think there's no possibility of nausea and/or bad experiences. People who like it love it, people who dislike never use it again, so I recommend you to try and see where you stand.

No ^ maybe it may seem like some effects are similar but Amanita's act very differently to DXM or other dissociatives. Amanitas may have a dissociative effect but also oneirogenic-like, deliriant-like, drunkenness-like and other difficult to describe aspects.

Amanita's are not to be fucked with and they can be tricky to get proper effects with, as it seems considerably more difficult than with Psilocybin mushrooms. Also research how to prepare them if you do decide to ingest any, you do not want any toxic effects from ibotenic acid in them.

I don't believe much of Efoj's post either. Psilocybin mushrooms are not stimulating. But yes, apparently Amanita's are even more sedating in effect than Psilocybe's, even so sedating that you may feel like falling asleep and getting vivid dreams that seem very real. Quite intense indeed, it sounds.

Your friend says that not a lot of people have tried Amanita's which is true. But that they do not cause nausea sounds like anecdotal evidence. Also euphoria may not be such a typical effect with them as with psilocybe's which often cause you to get a perma-grin on the comeup... but I do think that alcohol-like euphoria is certainly possible with Amanita's.

You know... consider Psilocybes and Amanitas as totally different drugs. It doesn't matter that they come in mushroom (or truffle, at least fungus-) shaped vessels. The chemicals in them are not related. I suggest you refer to the separate threads we have on them and the separate Erowid pages on them. I wouldn't try to compare them actually.

Can I ask why you want to compare them? What is the purpose of that? Use the Psychedelic Index to find the appropriate threads and unless I think you have a valid reason for comparison expect this thread to be closed. Because like I said, we do not want people to confuse them or think they are similar in ways they are really not.

Thank you all for the answers.
And I'm sorry but I didn't found that thread before, it helped to know a little more.
I was curious about comparing them to understand, relatively to what I experienced, what I could expect about that chemical. I already understand they can't compare.
So you can close this if you want, and thanks again :)
Have a good night!
