Benzos Am I the ONLY one who thinks benzos produce mild euphoria?/ opiate like effects

I think it has to do with body chemistry. The euphoria from alprazolam is more like a relief from constant anxiety and allows me to let go and relax..... Thats euphoric to me.
I have taken 5 and 10mg hydros it various quantities and have never felt any euphoric value. I do notice I get a little chatty and maybe nauseous, not euphoric. Once in the ER I was given morphine IV and first of all I didn't notice my pain diminish and second... no euphoria and also puked. Another ER incident I was given Dilaudid didn't do much for the pain... the second dose had me nodding and looking generally retarded but not euphoria and again, I puked. Where is this opiate euphoria people speak of? I have yet to experience it.

oh yeah, most genuine euphoria I have experienced is the afterglow of a DMT trip.... and same goes with changa.

This could be subjective.

However, temazepam was the ONLY benzo to cause a "euphoria" side effect in FDA trials. All other benzo's failed to produce this side effect.

When benzos are starting to relieve your anxiety, yeah that's relaxing, but it's not euphoric. That's not the right word. You feel good because you're calming down, but that's not true euphoria.

It's like calming your anxious self back down and your mood goes back up to baseline, but not further. Whereas opiates, whether your mood was already at baseline or even below it, it takes you way up past baseline and you feel really good, that's euphoria.

I disagree. I am an IV heroin addict, so I have definitely felt true euphoria. And I agree that opiates completely blow benzos out of the water in terms of euphoria. But I still think a nice dose of valium can be mildly euphoric. I certainly found valium quite enjoyable before I got addicted to benzos. It used to give me a floaty feeling with crazy thoughts and relaxation/sedation. It was great.

I agree...with one exception. Switch valium for clonazepam and this post could have been mine.

My sister commented how she thought 1 of my 10 mg valiums felt similar to 10 mg vicodins she once had a script' for & while being near genius, she is very naive when it comes to opies' & benzos'...

I get euphoria from the bitter taste of xanax melting under my tounge and knowing everything is going to be alright. When it kicks in it feels like my whole body has eaten a bunch of peppermint tictacs after drinking a glass of cold water. I feel euphoric in the sense that I can actually be a normal person.

That being said it is entirely different from the warm feeling of bliss when oxycodone is flowing through your veins.

I do think benzos give a little euphoria if you are not abusing them and use once in a while.. but I dont think they relate at ALL Ato opiates. THey feel nothing like an opiate.

They can synergize very well with other drugs, such as opioids, alcohol, dissisociatives, and even weed. Just gotta be careful mixing CNS depressants.

Well I get about a -4/10 with opiates (bad reaction, mega headaches and nausea)
But I don't get any euphoria from benzos either.

It's a blessing in disguise I tell myself.

I don't really get euphoria from opiates either. I feel nice, mellow and my anxiety goes away. Almost zero euphoria though, even if IV'd (oxy). I still like them, but the only actually euphoric opioid drug for me is tramadol. I'm happy about this as well, don't see myself getting addicted to them because they aren't that great for me. Stimulants, psychedelics and empathogens on the other hand... now that's where I get my euphoria from.

If I combine opiates with other drugs I might get sort of an euphoric body high thingy, but on their own, nah. I might even get slight dysphoria with certain opiates, they can make me somewhat sad/depressed.

Whenever I take enough benzos to supposedly feel any euphoria, I end up falling asleep before any euphoria can be felt lol.

So yeah, not euphoric for me... Unless you consider that chill-out, mellow, anxiety-free feeling euphoric. I find weed/alcohol gives more euphoria than any benzos I've tried.

I also find time just flies when I'm on benzos.

I've done Medazepam, Diazepam and Xanax up til' now.

They're more useful when coming down from some stimulants or when having to perform on stage/whatever than actually using them as a recreational drug.

You know, the FDA also didn't list valium or other benzos as addictive. They have done the same for many drugs. The reason they aren't putting "euphoric" on other benzos is because of what happened to temazepam. Imagine if every benzo suddenly had a chance of producing euphoria, they would have to stop the production and highly monitor them, which is literally non-existent now apart from in the cases of temaz and flunitrazepam (go figure, the two MOST euphoric benzos).

I am experienced with lots of opiates and benzos. Perhaps it's just me- but I find benzos to be very euphoric i their own too. In fact some are better than all opiates (in my opinion) and that would have to hands down go to flunitrazepam. I also find xanax provides me with euphoria, but clonazepam doesn't. Nitrazepam and diazepam both do as well. I think it's all subjective on the person and benzo they take.

Flunitrazepam was sensational. It was like IV morphine to me, but better. Valium gives me that thingy legs feeling and couch potato mode that opiates do too. Xanax is an odd one - the euphoria is strong, but too dirty for my real liking. Nitrazepam feels very similar to flunitrazepam at high doses. Bromazepam is another of my favourites, it's floaty, relaxing and lifts my mood. Again, just my experience.

I sincerely doubt that, but drugs don't "suddenly change".

you are much more likely to feel euphoria if you are in a shitty mood or just feel bad from worrying so much you can/t think straight. i have anxiety and i know others that agree with me when i say people with anxiety benefit more and feel better from benzos

temazepam for me procures the most euphoric reaction to benzos for me, but i have experienced recreational effects from other benzos. i like valium and clonazepam, and xanax is nice too.

I believe I'm broken. I don't find opiates euphoric at all. I've tried everything from codeine to oxymorphone and all I get is this heavy relaxed feeling, but my mindset is the same. In fact sometimes they put me in pissy mood. I just don't understand it. I find benzos way for euphoric than opiates, but I have mild social anxiety.

I like taking benzos every now and then, or well... I take them ~12-15 days a month then take a ~15-18 day break, which I feel helps retain both the therapeutic and recreational aspects of benzos. They certainly aren't euphoric to me, but they can help increase my overall mood. If I'm really down in the dumps, this can be seen as I guess 'euphoria', but it is more just relief. It feels nice to have a day where you have no stress and can just relax. Some benzos do have a better mood lift than others ime, like diazepam, alprazolam, and midazolam, compared to lorazepam and clonazepam.

I hate using benzos recreationally and never really found them to be fun or euphoric at all. Last week however, I was going to a social gathering and decided to take a 10mg dose a few hours beforehand. I first took about 80mg of DXM and about an hour later dropped the benzos on an empty stomach (10mg Diazepam). What followed was absolute, no shit, non-placebo, real euphoria. I actually had small amounts of rushing through my body for about one hour straight. This is the first time it has EVER happened and I still do not know why.
