Hello,

So during the past 12 hours i've been taking Soma (500mg at a time). I've done a total of 2000mg so far. I feel completely sober now, and I'd like to redose another 500mg. I am, however, very concerned about convulsions. On the other hand, i feel 100% sober (no slow movements, cognitive thought appears normal, heart rate 100 - 115 bpm, no drowsiness, normal breathiness, overall no side effects - except a very subtle jittery).

Would it be safe to take another 500mg now, since I'm feelinng totally fine? I need a sleeping aid, thats my only purpose.

Thanks!!!

I wish in have'nt done it at all in the frat place. However I've seen reports of ppl doing as much as 3000mg - or even more.

True..

Just out of curiosity, one can feel a seizure is about to come, or it just happens totally suddenly (in one minute you're 100% normal, and in the next one you are seizing)?

you can feel it before it comes. trust me, i was taking a lot of tramadol and i was ignorant enough to think i'd never have a seizure. one day i had a massive grand mal seizure. i never have had a siezure before that or afte,r but the feeling of a seizure/before a seizure is called an aura. its almost a dream-like state with mild anxiety and i had a small headache, i knew i was going to have one like 2 hours before it happened, i even was looking it up on my phone the entire time up until i had a siezure. its a very distinct feeling. the scarey part is, even before this i had that same feeling (just not as strong) sometimes when i would take tramadol. some people have mild aura's and cant really tell if they are going to have a seizure, but to my knowledge most people experience an aura sometime before a seizure.

EDIT: another symptom of an aura/seizure is random muscle spasms, or even being kind of jittery, i had a few weird random muscle spasms before my seizure (I.E. my arm jerked once while i was writing a paper before my seizure). be careful and if you have any benzo's laying around keep them near by if you believe you are having an aura, they are known to prevent seizures when taken durring an aura and can even stop a seizure when someone is having one. ativan is probably the best for this.

I dont have benzos but i do have Carbamazepine. Im gonna take 75mg just in case

sounds great, hope everything is fine and nothing happens. which is probably what will happen. like i stated earlier, i've had aura's before my seizure plenty of times and didnt even know it. i still get them if i take over 200mg's of tramadol(which sucks cause i need atleast 400 to feel something.) hope this helps

so far so good. my only symptoms are anxiety and a lil bit o jittery. what really pisses me off is anxiety, thats a b*

i just took half a pill, and about a half an hour later i'll take the other half, and so on until I dose 2 entire pills. carbamazepine gives me the most awful headaches i've ever had, not mention extreme agitation and anxiety. but still, better that than a freaking seizure right? and maybe (just maybe) soma will counteract these side effects.. that what i hope for.

benzos are simply a must have. unfortunately i failed to restock last week, now i'm paying the price. but i actually enjoyed soma tho. too bad it doesn't last at all.

dude, thanks so much for your time : )

And now for the first time I feel the drunk-like effect!! It took me only 3500 mg to reach that

Funny fact

At some point I fell dead tired , like im gonna pass out and sleep forever but all of the sudden I wake up and in the minute after and just can't go back to bed

muscle spasms just begun. luckily i've already took precautions!!

is 600mg enough?

unfortunately I have yet to try soma. however I am not foreign to seizures. there may be warning signs prior to seizure. however, you probably won't recognize a seizure until it's too late (what would you even do, s/l some ativan? injection?) imo you will have to had a previous seizure to recognize one. ime You could watch for, a distinct chest pain, your vision looking really bright, possibly so much it is distorted, maybe light headed, you may feel disconnected with reality, you may have uncoordinated movements in which muscles twitch and retract and such with too much uncontrolled force, (in an odd and severe incident) i developed a mylonclonic(sp) jerk which did not feel like a full out brain siezure but maybe. be careful though, with siezures you may have issues with your driving. so man the carbabazine sounds pretty good right about now.

idk about you but like i stated earlier, i've only had one seizure and the whole time leading up to it i could distinctly recognized that i was about to have one. even before i looked up the symptoms of an aura in my head i was thinking "yep, im pretty sure im bout to have a seizure or something is about to happen", its a pretty strange feeling, like no other. i wouldnt go so far to say that a person who has some education on seizure symptoms would not be able to tell if they were about to have a seizure. but the "bright vision" is right on point. i couldnt have said it better, some people even experience small hallucinations. i myself notice small things in the corner of my eyes. just my 2 cents.

I'm not positive but full on grand mal seizures (tonic-clonic seizures) maybe have slightly different symptoms or even more powerful symptoms

Well I would't go that far. What I experienced was some spams and jittery the same way as if I had taken too much ecstasy. I did, however, took 200mg of carbamazepine which is a anti seizure medication and all those symptoms stopped within an hour.

I took a total of 4250mg of Soma spaced out in a period of less than 24 hours and at no time had trouble to walk, speak, even mention hallucinations. Even tho, its better be safe than sorry, therefore I have no intentions do it again, as it is no fun, and a very poor anxiety reliever. Benzos are so easy to get, better have them always on hand just in case.

Thank you all for replying : )

Soma loses it's fun rather quick. 700mg should be all you need for a plesant head buzz. It sounds like you have done them too often. Once more than 2 pills (350mg) is needed, I think you should take a break. I've taken 1400mg before but would not recommend it.

I've had auras.... but before migraines... before the headache begins, I notice strange symptoms such as dizziness, ringing in my ears, seeing zigzag lines, and being sensitive to light.

So auras aren't just before seizing. There is also reports of them happening around the time of strokes and heart attacks.

My mom gets auras sometimes with nothing following it. Just the aura.

So the aura doesn't always mean something is about to come. Also it doesn't mean that if something does follow it, that it will be a seizure. Could be as harmless as a migraine or as serious as a stroke or heart attack. But you can't predict seizures by auras.
