Am I shooting into an artery?

OK so Idk if this is even posted in the correct place but have a serious question.

I have been an IV user for several years & as a result of putting things like pills, vinegar & other crappy things in my veins, I don't have the voluptuous, juicy veins that I once did. :(

Recently I found a good spot on the thumb side of my wrist. I can feel the vein from my wrist into the bottom/palm area of my hand, running directly below my thumb. When I tie up, it does not pulse, but occasionally when I hit it, it gets like a numb yet tingly feeling. It is not painful nor is the blood bright red. Seems like every other vein I've used, except for the numb/tingly sensation. Nor does it bleed much after.

I'm just worried because for one I know the wrist is one of the easiest places to accidentally hit arteries. Second is the strange sensation (which I should add, is most def NOT a miss- I know exactly how that feels & the med I'm currently using hurts so bad if you miss that it's near impossible to do). Lastly, I just finished a shot & when I finished & released my tie, I was feeling a pulse as I was holding a tissue to stop the (minimal) bleeding. I couldn't tell if the pulsing was coming from the place I used or if it was just in that area.

OK guys any info would help. I appreciate it!

I'm no doctor but man is drugs that important to you that could possibly lose your hand over getting high. This sounds absolutely crazy as fuck to me.

I am aware of the risks. I thought bluelight was about harm reduction NOT judgement. Guess I was wrong. But thanks a lot for your very helpful post.

It sounds like you're striking a nerve.

If you feel pressure and severe pain in your finger tips, then it is likely you are hitting a nerve and should stop.

Welcome to the site; in the future, there's a sub-forum called Other Drugs, and there's a thread in that sub-forum called IV Complications... it will help you out with information if you have the time to browse it. :)

Thanks everyone for the welcome :)

Captain.Heroin, thanks for the reply. That is what I originally thought, but the pulsing freaked me out a bit!

Thanks again everyone :)
