alright so long story short i got caught with my homemade bullet (bump despenser) by the cops, there was nothing in it but the like smallest lil bit of ketamine residue in it (like very very very verry small amount) they said they were taking it to the police station to run tests to see what it is. now i live in a small town so i dont know if they even know what ketamine is. so my question is what are the chances of them testing it for ketamine and finding out thats what it is. and if they figure out what it is what will the consequences be?

Not everyone knows what Ketamine is, when I got caught with a DUI I had to go to some drug class and the lady had no idea what it was. Ketamine doesn't show up on drug tests unless they specifically test for it. You should be fine. If for whatever reason you do get into trouble than you would be charged with possession, and if you were driving a possible DUI. You get time for a DUI, at least in AZ but for possession you tend to get off for a first time offense and get probation and have to go to some classes. Once again, these are the charges in AZ.

The following 14 substances are tested for in even the most advanced drug tests (Yes, even Buprenorphine can be tested). Anything else has to be specific tested. Even when I overdosed and wound up at the hospital I had to piss through a catheter to find out what substances were in me. On their checklist Ketamine didn't show up (at the HOSPITAL). The Ketamine was what caused the overdose to begin with. You have nothing to worry about unless they believe that you took Ketamine and have you tested for it.

so they sent it off to a lab because they couldnt figure it out at the station this was a day after i posted this thread.... still havent heard back, does anyone know how long a lab test takes?

You'll be fine as long as they don't specifically test for Ketamine. That is why they couldn't figure it out the first time. I have no idea how long the lab test will take to come back but it shouldn't be longer than a day. No reason why it would take longer than that.

So its been 18 days since this happened and i still havent been notified about the results of the testing. I dont know if they are still testing, or if they didnt find anything and just aren't gonna call to tell me that. So im going to assume im in the clear, but if this comes back to bite me in the ass in a month im gonna be pissed.

whats your opinion guys? do you think im in the clear or do you think they are just takin there sweet time testing it?

Its been 18 days and they haven't responded, that means you tested clean and they have no reason to call you. They would have if you came up dirty. You win.

Yeah I'd assume you're in the clear. Were you driving or anything when they found the bullet? If not, and they were trying to get a simple possession charge, I'd have to assume their tests were inconclusive if they have yet to get back to you.

there's so much guessing going on in this thread. to the op, nobody here can tell you with any degree of authority what's happening, or what will happen to you.

I think he knows we cant give him a definite answer, hes probably just looking for a little, guidance, there could easily be someone whos had the same thing happen to them who could say yes or no from their own experience. i would say yes they probably will find out, they are the cops, they are assholes, and if it comes up negative for the obvious heroin, coke, meth etc. they will probably run more advance tests. massachusetts isnt exactly the middle of nowhere, and i agree with the person who said if they sent it to a lab then the ketamine will definitely be identified. i hope this helps you. i think bluelight is just about info sharing that helps people when they are in doubt or need to know something. you always have to assume you can 100% trust what anyone says, but you can get guidance. i mean i dont know that china really exists but i believe that it does.....

did you get a charge when this happened? or were they just going to test it then wait to charge you? they could have charged you with possesion of paraphernailia and given you a court date.
when they asked you what was inside it what did you say? being an veteran ofmany arrests and police encounters as well as having a BA in criminal justice it's better to remain silent. tell them you will iont answer questions until you speak with an attorney. because anything you say, can and will be used you.
but sometimes if the cops are being cool you might not want to be a dick with them, if you co-operate they might cut you a break if it's something little.

also, being that there was a very tiny amount of K in the bottle they might not even have enough to test after they used it to test for all the other different drugs.
the cops must really have nothing going on where you live if they bother sending a tiny bullet out with tiny amounts of powder in it for testing.

my guess is if they haven't get back to you you should be in the clear. whatever you do, don't call them and remind them about it.
also, keep in mind that if it really is a small town you live in, the cops are going to be watching you since you got one by them. they tend not to forget about shit like that.

It's been 18 days and they haven't contacted you so my "assumption" is that your in the clear. If they did an advanced test it would have came up already. It doesn't take 18 days to do a drug test, advanced or not. But like I've said, even with an advanced test Ketamine doesn't show up. It has to be tested specifically.

I answer with experience because I was tested for after a DUI and I had to wait for my drug test to come back and oxycodone showed up but not the ketamine or Soma. I'm not sure how advanced the test was though so that's why I call my answer an "assumption".

You were however in the possession of a substance, even if they don't know what it is, they could possibly do something about that but it's been 18 days and counting.

State crime labs are notoriosly slow I think you are gonna be arrested at a later date unless the original police contaminated the test which is possibble.
