Am I experiencing neuro toxicity

Hello, I have been rolling about every 1-2 months for about 8 months, taking about 125mg of mdma. Now I always hear people talking about their horrible comedowns but I have experienced no such thing. I always feel great when I wake up the next day. It's my understanding, which is probably incorrect, that mdma causes toxicity is caused when serotonin is totally depleted from your brain, and because I am experiencing no comedowns I would think that my serotonin levels are okay even after rolling. This all leads me to think that perhaps I am not experiencing toxicity when I roll or at least a lesser amount than the people posting about their nasty comedowns, can someone more knowledgeable weigh in on this, also how common is it to not experience comedowns?

I think comedowns are uncommon when doses are kept reasonable (below 125mg for a big person) and its quality MDMA.

While neurotoxicity in animals occurs in part due to serotonin depletion, you can certainly have serotonin depletion without neurotoxicity. You can also desensitize serotonin receptors without depleting the reserves of serotonin itself.

There are probably some people that are more vulnerable to serotonin depletion and comedowns, but for the most part people get afterglows like you do if their doses are kept low and they stay hydrated et cetera

Especially if they can get some sleep.

As a final note I'd like to point out that comedowns and hangovers are certainly not necessarily due to neurotoxicity or even serotonin depletion without co-occuring neurotoxicity

^that. But also take into account that the way you feel has nothing to do with any type of toxicity or damage. I know people who drop 4-500mg in a night every few weeks and they say they feel fine. However, knowing what I know about MDMA, I'd bet my right nut that they are doing some irreparable damage over the course of months or years and brain scans would likely show some extent of what they are doing to their bodies.

Well given that people experience afterglows right after ecstasy drained their brain of serotonin, that proves serotonin depletion by itself won't cause comedowns or neurotoxicity. The problem is oxidization of serotonin receptors. From what I understand, some receptors remain unharmed while others get slightly damaged which limits their ability to manufacture it. Over time, you lose the ability to refill your brain with enough serotonin to make you happy and chill so you become permanently depressed. You're using pretty responsibly so I wouldn't worry about anything. Make sure you take anti-oxidants during the roll and 5-HTP afterwards.
