Does anyone else think it's suspicious that a Greenlighter joins BL and the next day send's you a friend request without talking to you or posting in your threads or replying to your posts?

Seriously I think this person is a pig trying to get a friend(Friends?) with a long BL history to look legit.

Posting this makes me think the twat will change tactics and no doubt make a new username.

Anyone else had this happen in the last few days?

The only other reason for it I could come up with is that this person was mashed and clicked 'friend request'.

I used to get that all the time. Not so much these days. Still get a fair few GLers PMing asking for sources but get sent packing and usually don't post after that. Am guessing it may be summat similar. Or, as Jan says, an alt. Odd they didn't PM you to let you know who it was or what they want though.

I've had the same thing happen several times in the past.

It could be as innocent as them liking your posts & wanting to be friends but either way I just ignore them. Better to be safe than sorry. If they really wanted to be your friend they'd talk to you in threads & build up friendship & trust that way.

I'd like to suggest that Admins consider disabling friend requests from greenlighters.

What could they possibly want with being 'friends' with you though? It's not like they gain any extra info, if they wanted to watch what you're posting surely they'd make a private note of your username and watch you accordingly without alerting any attention.

If someone wants to be my friend I've no problem with that. Doesn't mean they're going to get any special treatment, similarly if someone has several friends it's no reason to "trust" them more than someone with no friends.

Seems fairly harmless to me, just use your common sense, friends mean fuck all, just like on facebook :)
Except I love my friends <3

edit: Just got a friend request from someone I like. Now I feel all bad :\

In your profile privacy settings, you can restrict access to certain information so only friends can see it.

There may be other things I haven't noticed.

Plus what Shambles said, however I don't know if it takes account of girth, hence my preference for using syringes.

to keep track of your online drug dealing obviously!

Personally I associate people with their picture and not their name, so when people change their displace picture on the forums I get baffled. Does anyone else get that?

Gaz_hmmm: you are being way too paraoind, I am well aware that telling someone that is obviously paranoid they are paranoid is pointless but I thought I would just throw it out there before anyone else gets in :)

In the early days it's a fun way of freaking out people you don't know, after that it's like collecting Nando's stamps. For every five you pay for you get a free one, with spit in it.

I wouldn't form any level of trust with anyone I haven't met personally. If a friend had met them previously, that's different.

There are probably a few pigs sniffing round.

Always feel a little uncomfortable with the term "pig" because police are far more unpleasant than any pig. Wasn't it a term the black panthers came up with so they could call the police a name without being arrested for swearing?

Saw a family of little piglets about 3 months ago and I havn't touched any ham or bacon since. Trying to get off meat.

I'd be suspicious, but then I'm a suspicious person. :D

It never even occurred to me to start adding folks as friends on here.. it's enough hassle on facebook.

Time for an EADD meet in London then methinks. No drugs, no party - just gather en masse and call every passing pig a cunt as loudly as possible :D

I wonder how long that would last 8)

May not be illegal but it's not like they can't just make shit up to get you in the cells for a kicking. Is somewhat of a speciality of theirs :\

I would guess it's something people do to appear not that new or something - to look legit, as you said. Or maybe people do that to feel like a part of the community, because they don't want to be looked at as that new guy who no one knows. Or maybe it's the Government, who knows...
