AM-2201 won't dissolve in alcohol - Why?

Hi, my first post...

I think I read it here at Bluelight that AM-2201 would dissolve in alcohol. I got a small quantity and tried to dissolve it (100mg) into 100ml of alcohol (60%/120 proof), but without any good results. The powder just floats around in the alcohol. I could dose it OK if I just shaked the bottle before use, but i had to be fast.

Is there something wrong with this batch (seller) or doesn't AM-2201 dissolve in alcohol after all?

This is for orally use...

Hi Voxx, Welcome to Bluelight

We can't know whether your AM-2201 is real or pure or not without testing it, and for that reason we don't do any drug identification type discussion on here. But I can tell you that AM-2201 does dissolve in ethanol. [Source]. The solubility of AM-2201 in ethanol is 5mg per 1ml, so, bearing in mind that what you used wasn't pure ethanol it would have been about 1mg per 0.6ml, that still should have been plenty of ethanol to completely dissolve it. If it were not pure AM-2201 and were mixed with something that was not soluble in ethanol then that cut would not dissolve, but we can't know whether that is the case or whether your AM-2201 is in fact actually AM-2201.

Thanks for good explanation. I guess I have gotten hold of something that's not pure. It does work, but I don't know if it's Am-2201 or something else...

BTW, Is there any synthetics (if that's a name) that doesn't dissolve in alcohol (ethanol)?

I don't know the answer to your question but I will tell you my experience with dissolving am-2201.

Generally speaking I would use a very small amount of acetone to dissolve 1g jwh-122 or 1g am-2201 at a time. I am talking like 1/2 ounce of liquid at MOST probably half that. I would then use a fine mist sprayer to spray it over the plant material. I would get maybe 10 sprays before the bottle was empty. The jwh-122 (and most other jwh's) seem to dissolve extremely quick and easy and cause absolutely no clogs in the sprayer. The am-2201 using the same amount of acetone was not only harder to dissolve but was pretty much guaranteed to clog the sprayer. It would get extremely sticky if that makes sense.

My personal opinion is it is just going to take extra/time to dissolve the am-2201. Alcohol is a slower solvent to use than acetone as well... but safer I suppose.
