Always getting nausea from Poppy pods?

I've had a batch of pods for about 2 years that I sometimes make tea from and have been making tea more often recently with these pods... It seems that every time I make some tea with 1-3 pods, I get really bad nausea for my entire high, which kills the experience. Is there any way to avoid this? I try taking pepto bismol and other things but it still happens. Its more of a painful stomach ache then nausea... Could it just be this batch of pods or is this going to happen with all tea I make? I tried searching and the most info I could come up with is that nausea is more common with inexperienced users or first times. I am not naive either to opiates... Anyone got any ideas? Thanks

try using some anti-nausea meds such as an anti-histamine. 1st generation anti-histamines produce sedation where the 2nd gen don't create nausea.

The painful stomac ache can be a side-effect of the Morphine - aswell as the PPT affecting your stomach etc.

I had unbearably painful stomach aches/cramps from Poppy Tea, and I haven't took it since.

I have taken morphine before (abg 100's ) and I've never had stomach pain , actually, I've never had stomach pain from any opiate pills before.. I heard that the stomach pain can by caused by alkaloid 'thebaine' in the pods... Anyone have an remedies to stop the nausea

is there mold on the pods? i have been using them almost every day and never got stomach upsets, but it is pretty common for a lot of people, so it could just be that.

i've never had nausea problems with poppy tea, had some nice dreamy day were i dont leave my room though :D maybe chenge your supply or preperation method.. i usually use pure lemon juice, cold water, and let a few pods at least 3 large ones, crushed with seeds soak in large bottle shaking regular for as long as i can be bother, usually a few ours upto 20+ sometimes get 2 soaks out one batch.... always been good, good luck for future dreams!

^^ You don't heat up water and steep them that way? I think I'll try letting em sit in the water for a lot longer... Whats the benefit of the lemon juice? Just to cover up taste?

The acidity of the lemon juice is used to "bring out" the the opiate alkaloids better, resulting in better concentration. It helps with taste also. I usually add orange juice afterwards as well.

The very first time that I used poppy pods I had a slight stomach ache that quickly passed. Once in a great while (has probably happened 5 out of literally hundreds of times) I will get ill and throw up and get the shakes. One time I felt fine I just threw up 3 times the next day at work. Generally speaking, out of hundreds of uses I've only gotten sick a handful of times and I think it was probably from fungus or mold that must've snuck in there.

One notable exception was when I tried a new vendor on Ebay long ago - the pods would sit in my stomach until I puked everytime I made the tea. After doing this 3 times I got painful intestinal spasms and diarrhea and felt poisoned... I speculate that those pods must have been treated with insecticides or something. Had to throw them out and face the withdrawals :(

I think the best option is just to get Promethazine. I've heard this is a very potent anti-emetic. Also, smoking weed will help if it's nausea, stomach cramps are not something I'd expect though. Especially considering you're on a potent analgesic.

the tea always made me sick too even in conjunction with antihistamines, so i started reducing it to 'pod putty' and 'plugged' the putty - problem solved. the bioavailability is increased using this ROA so lower your dose accordingly.

I actually just threw up a big french press of pod tea...It often gives me nausea, but never so bad that I would consider throwing up. For some reason, as soon as I swallowed the last gulp, I suddenly felt that distinctive "oh shit I'm gonna puke" feeling in my throat, and it blasted right out all over myself.

I often take hydroxyzine (another potent antihistamine) or smoke bud to deal with nausea, but I had none present today. I like pod tea, but my nausea seems to be getting worse with time. I don't think I'll be able to keep it up, even with antihistamines and cannabis.

Maybe you just got a bad batch of pods? I use them daily and I'll occasionally get a brief stomach ache if I swallow too many of the grinds but they don't make me nauseous any more.

You might want to consider it a blessing and just not do them anymore, pod addiction is hell, at least when you run out. Otherwise I would try benadryl and lay down, and/or get another batch from a trusted vendor. I usually just swallow the grounds with grapefruit juice now and that works best for me, least amount of side effects.

Good luck!
