Altruism

People dress up and go to their house of worship on the weekend to be told stories of the son of God who came to the earth to teach humans how to be better to each other. Is it any wonder we're so pitiful when it's been hammered into our heads that only people who can rise from the dead are truly capable of being decent?

I "pray" for a world without religion. It is a beautiful cosmos we live in--mystical, magical, awe-inspiring. Why do we cling to these mythologies that have been either poorly interpreted for centuries or are just completely irrelevant? Anyway, happy spring, Thujone. That whole resurrection myth seems to me like just one more way ancient people dovetailed their pagan mythologies and celebrations with the new religion of christianity. I like to celebrate rebirth in the spring--it's everywhere you turn so why not?;)

One thing about religion makes me wonder how deeply we are involved.
The Bible for instance has been a best seller for centuries and most people are Christian.
I was wonder about the myth but it has been said so sine 2000 years, why would so many of us get into the tradition.
I don't believe in the Catholic Church but believe in God.
Someone created all of that and it wasn't us, so I wonder about this God.
About death, human race need sequence to give meaning to their (ours) miserable lives.

if it was proved to be nothing afterwards we would simply suicide more often IMO.
Interesting topic.
I believe in helping other people, always.
