I have been appointed best man and I want to come up with a great stag-do.

Any idea's that doesn't involve the usual stag-do stuff? ... We have done the paintball / go-karting / rafting / strippers etc over the previous years so I am looking to do something a bit different.

Recommendations / advice would be very gratefully received...

Please feel free to chip in an add what you did for your stag / hen do if applicable

Ive perfected the zombie roar as featured in the Walking Dead, right the way through the scale from the muted to the full on furious. Im trying to do the walk now, they walk at a weird sloping leaning angle and strange lumbering pace, its quite hard to do, i think i need some feedback. I might post a clip for feedback, depending on what substances have been consumed i may have some giggles acting like a zombie on my next night out.

zombie shopping mall ? meaning its full of zombie paraphenalia, can see how that might fill one shop, but a whole mall ? Or do you mean everyone that goes there is a zombie or something.

Its a mint business idea perhaps, i dont think theres such a store around here, allthough around halloween time i saw a couple of brilliantly made up zombies in a local shop, they could have stepped off the set of the walking dead, maybe i need to partner up with an arty make up artist or something, the thing is what would i bring to the table and have to offer the partner. :\

It's a disused shopping mall in central Reading set over three floors. It looks rate like something out of 28 days later - Only the top floor is light with natural light, the ground floor is dark and the basement is pitch black. Bassment is damp and cold and you can't see where you're going. The shopping floors have broken (plastic) windows with leaflets and crap strewn everywhere. It's what you'd expect of pretty much any abandoned building but it's a massive shopping mall. You don't see many of them as they usually get destroyed to make way for flats or something.

Anyway, when you're inside you get given an airsoft gun and taught how to use it. For the next three or four hours you're in the mall with your gun fending off actors who are dressed up as zombies (very realistic) who are hiding or chasing depending on where you are in the 'game'. I won't give away the storyline or what happens, but essentially you're in a terrifying setting with no idea on directions or what's about to happen, with zombies jumping out at you or chasing you....

I'm not really a zombie fan. The movies are OK a bit but I find this vampire/zombie obsession a bit tedious.

The zombie mall experience was easily one of the best things I've done in my life though. It's expensive but worth every penny. The guys are really nice at the end as well, you get to hang out with them. I was <-> this close to quitting my job and doing part time zombie work for them. Fuck the house, fuck the car, fuck the life - at that moment I didn't want to leave the Zombie mall.

And, if any recruiters for marketing/advertising are reading, yes I would consider a job move.

That being said you could probably fly out to Eastern Europe and stay for three days for the same price. Depends what you fellas are into.

that sounds awesome, takes things like paintballing and lazer gun centres to a whole new level, that really is a potentially good business idea i think, i dont think there's anything simillar in this area. Shows like The Walking Dead are phenominally popular and Im a huge fan of that show and other zombie mall type films. I know someone who is trained as a set designer. Fuckin hell, possibilties here.

Love zombie flicks but not seen any of The Walking Dead. MDB are you a fan of gaming at all? There's a game called DayZ that's in alpha stages at the moment so won't be out for ages, but might be worth looking into.

Someone posted that they were going to this one, seems quite price for £214, but I suppose you would have to pay all the actors.

ive seen an advert for an xbox game 'the living dead' or something, it looks fuckin awesome. I dare not get into gaming, trust me, i have enough trouble leaving the house and doing anything productive as it is, the last thing i need is another time sink, or maybe it might help me in the evenings to get off etiz i dunno, when my mind needs to be occupied by something, and turns in on itself if it isnt, hence i blot it out with etizolam. :sus:

you really should watch TWD if you like zombie stuff. Season 4 is on a midseason break atm, but i think epiosde 1 of season four was downloaded a million times about an hour after it was first broadcast on american tv i read that somewhere whilst trying to find the fucking download itself. Its one of the best tv series for years, the characters and zombies and plot lines are so addictive. RRRRAAAAAAARRRRRRRRHHHHH !! =D

you have to pay them to be a zombie actor, fuckin hell theyve got that sewn up cleverly havent they. Youd have thought it would be the other way round. Must be one hell of a money spinner, should you happen to own or rent a manor or shopping mal, though i spose you could use free punlic spaces too, or buy some land if it really takes off.

Soon as I get back to my house, where the internet is divine, I'll make sure I get it downloaded.

There's always part of me that wouldn't mind a zombie apocalypse happening until I start thinking about the sheer number of deaths and how statistically I would probably be one of them (except of course I would be an absolute boss during an apocalypse :D). I play it out in my head as a virus though instead of reanimated corpses - like 28 days later.

PS that's an impressive quadruple post

start with season 1 epiosde 1, not with season 4, youll miss all the back story and characater development. Sorry if thats staing the obvious, but this series is so good it has to be watched right from the start. Andrew Lincoln gets surrounded by about 5,000 zombies in season 1 episode 1, does he escape, if so how ? watch it to find out !

Is it just me that has spotted the gap in the market here? :D

(and they say nothing about legal drugs ;))

That zombie mall thing our squirrelish overlord mentions sounds like great fun. As do the others I'm sure (not checked linkies). Too pricey for many though, I'd suspect. Budget version with booze and drugs encouraged at every step of the way sounds more like it. Dragon's Den here I come ;)
