Alright WTF (question on holes in yo brain)

Have a look through the directory or check out MDMA.net for some further insight into this.

Most of the studies on MDMA / brain damage was done by injecting stupid amounts into rats.

I just looked at the video, those holes are parts of brain which have inactivity. Which i wouldn't doubt, she is probably a heavy user but there is indeed some damage being done. They aren't actual fried holes though, just some damaged parts that aren't processing things correctly which will probably mostly reverse after a huge amount of time off mdma.
Anyone here actually get a scan of their brain, i'm tired of these videos though because they always have controversy.

like people said, damage done by mdma will most likely reverse with time of not using X or any other drugs anymore.

I was a heavy user for a little while, rolling sometimes 5 times a week, days in a row, sometimes rolling 24hours or more straight. The only bad side effects i noticed was a deep bout of depression for about a month after i stopped using. I still take 5htp and i take pretty much every vitamin you could think of daily. Now i experience no depression, but little anxiety (but i have a history of anxiety issues before i ever started taking X).

I also have other negative side effects. I seem to have some sort of short term memory loss, i loose little important things all the time. I often forget the name of a song i want to listen too, and think and think and think and can not remember it for the life of me until later (experienced with many other stored peices of information.)

Also, my vision is a little off. I seem to have HPPD, light is often imprinted on my retinas and i will keep seeing the light long after it has gone away. When it's dark, i get kind of a staticy vision, my night time vision blows now. I do have 20/15 vision though (better than 20/20)

Also.. I have another drastic side effect that I am still experiencing
You could say this is a Neutral side effect. Ever since i stopped rolling my
taste in music has DRASTICALLY changed. Before completely stopped rolling, i used to
only listen to Lil wayne. thats it. Sometimes the greatful dead and the beatles.
Now? I don't listen to Lil wayne anymore, or hardly any rap for that matter... now i mostly listen to
Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Usher, and uh sometimes Taylor Swift.

EDIT: Also! this is an important side effect I am experiencing, I have NO IDEA what it is,
but need some help in figuring out what im experiencing. After i quit rolling, i will sometimes wake
up in the middle of the night as quickly as the snap of fingers, and i will be in a horrible mind state.
Let me describe one of my most recent episodes..
I went to sleep, and out of no where I woke up and jumped out of bed. I was in a mind state of sheer
panic and terror. I immediately began walking around my house at a fast pace, looking around
and trying to gather some sort of thought. Only i couldn't think. about anything. The only thing i could experience
was extreme terror. I was panicing, racing through my house. The only way i can describe my mind state was
extreme terror. I honestly couldn't figure out what was going on or happening. I couldn't think. I'd eventually stop pacing and
sit on my bed again, don't remember anything after that i passed right out.

I've had episodes like this quite a few times.. and have no idea what it is. Is this a side effect to X abuse?
Does anyone know what i'm talking about? The episodes don't last longer than 5 mionutes, and always happen

This, also studies done on regular users do not take into account that cannabis can also effect peoples short term and cognitive memory.

ahahaha i agree with the music part holy shit, i used to play in a local death metal band, i was a guitarist, i did pills, and fell in love with dubstep and house music, once i started to get into pills and dubstep more i literally went out and bought a 4000 dollar set up and i've been a dj ever since xD

ya bro its so weird.. i like can't listen to the old jeezy and weezy stuff i used to anymore. Now i love listening to songs where the music is sung, and I like the electronic beats.. I gotta get my windows tinted in my car cause i cant keep cruising around blaring Lady Gaga's Paparazzi and singing!

Ahaha, I hear ya man xD

holy shit. fuck ecstasy man i was considering it but after seeing that vid HELL no.

I'm not telling you to try it, but don't make a decision on something based on a 10 year old MTV show.

Anything is dangerous when abused or when it falls into the wrong hands. Alcohol has ruined many many more lives I can assure you.

Do some more research on it and make an educated decision about the drug. I think you'll find that when it's used responsibly, it's a very safe drug.

i always thought those brain holes were on rats consuming copius amount of methamphetamine not mdma, in fact near enough all bad medical reports from the land of the free(hahah) can be disproved as lies.

Watch the documentary ecstacy rising.

The thing with the meth/MDMA "swith up" was the idea that it gave you Parkinson's...but most brain scans where "holes" are seen is depleated serotonin production. It was once thought that rolling depleated 80% of your serotonin production, but more accurate studies have been done with more usual recreational amounts, and only a 5% loss occurs, but it is fully regained in 2 months...hence why you space out your rolling

and yes, Ecstacy Rising is a GREAT video

I'm also looking forward to a new show coming on National Geographic called Drugged, where MDMA will be the topic of one show

I don't buy the holes in the brain thing, but I like to envision parts of the brain becoming temporarily atrophied after a night out. The best thing users can do besides quitting, is to use infrequently and take extra good care of their health by eating well, exercising, not smoking or abusing other drugs and perhaps meditating, which will hopefully allow the brain a substantial amount of time to recover in between uses. Its not wise to mess with the homeostasis of the brain, especially with chemicals that are believed to have the ability to cause significant damage. I also believe that mdma can be used to alter the mind in ways that may prove to be beneficial in the long run, but unfortunately many users seem to do it just to get high.

you must take in consideration the fact that this chick that constantly doing this MDMA over a long period of time

using MDMA spread out over month cycles is the way to do it

< This!

It's no loss to us if people like this decide not to use MDMA.
I would even argue that it is good that the kind of people who are put off by this are put off.

this is dumb. if people continue to spread and believe these myths, we are not progressing towards PROPER harm reduction and educating people.

i can't stand to see people spreading lies and myths without having done real research. i used to think that ecstasy "put holes in your brain," but i realized from a lot of research that most of what you hear in school and the media is wrong.

i now think that alcohol and tobacco are two of the most dangerous and addictive substances next to opiates and amphetamine, with drugs like ecstasy being relatively safe when used properly.
