So heres my question how many MORPHINE E.R. 60 MG HOW MANY CAN U TAKE IN ONE SITTING WITHOUT OVER DOING IT? I HAVE A HIGH TOLLERANCE TO OPIATES.....
Draven, as others have said only you know your tolerance, I am assuming your taking morphine sulfate CR (control Release) as these come in Controlled-Release Tablets 15 mg 30 mg 60 mg 100 mg* 200 mg*. The 100's and 200's are for DOCUMENTED opiate tolerant people only which maybe why he gave the 60MG's and the 30MG's otherwise it makes almost no sense to have given you 2 different doses of the control release, unless you have misread / misunderstood and the 30MG's are actually instant release to be taken for beak through pains, so you may want to look at that to be sure.
No one can tell you how much is safe to take because everyone is different. Also one thing that worries me is whether your taking them to get high and thats what your not getting out of the 90 Morphine ER? or are you really just not getting the pain relief that they were prescribed for?
well the doc has it in two different doses im suppose to take 90mg a 60mg and a 30mg but it just doesnt do it. Because they dont make a 90 mg tab so i was in so much pain today where death looked pretty freaking good but i ended up taking a total of 5 30mg so 150mg of morphine and im suppose to take it every 12 hours but ends after 4-5 when could i take another dose and as 4 my tollerance i can take 7-10/325percs at once to even get anything
Your tolerence you mention above is really not for comparison as percs and morphine are two different animals. Morphone is a stand alone opaite and the percs you mentioned are 10MG Oxycodone and 325 MG"S APAP or Acetaminophen which is an NSAID (non steroidal anti-inflamatory). So your talking about 70MG's of Oxy and 1300-1625MG's of the APAP. First point to that is taking that much Acetaminophen ESCPECIALLY cinsidering you mentioned later about downing your meds with Jack no matter how many hours after is never ever a good idea and I would never recommend it escpecially at the dosages your mentioning and DEFINITELY NOT with the percs as APAP at 2275MG per 24 hours by itself can be fatal (although studies have shown that you can take between 3000-4000MG's per 24hr, but the FDA has recently revised that the total amount per 24 hr's be dropped to 2000-3000MG per 24hrs as it can become very toxic to your liver) due to it's effects on your liver let alone adding some drinks on top of that. I definitely would not drink alcohol with any opiates, it's just a bad bad idea. (And I know what I'm talking about here because I am 37 years old with End Stage Liver Disease brought on by a number of factors but 2 of those factors were alcohol and medications (and I was not abusing either) and I now live in constant visceral pain in my abdomen, that I just got under control after 2 years of trial and error),
I did a conversion on an online calculator for Oxycodone to morphine and it says that if you take 70MGs Oxy that would be approx equililant to 105MGs of morphine, though that probably a bit on the high side as I did not include any tolerances so with a 40-50% tolerance it's closer to one on one 70MG Oxy to 70MG morphine.
Remember this site is about taking your meds safely so having said that you should take it as perscribed however if that is not working for you and the 30MG's morphines are infact ER and not instant release you could try just chewing one up and that will breakdown the morphine to become pretty much 30Mg's instant release so you will get all 30MG's all in one shot as apposed to 30MG's over a 12 hour or so period with the ER's. Again, I'm not advocating doing that but only you know your tolerance. Taking 60MG's ER and a 30MG IR may be way to high for some and not even close for someone else. We can't tell you what to take. Hopefully if anything you'll have read this and learned a little something about taking your meds safely and be able to judge for yourself what you should take and how much, as thats the best I can offer.
Best of luck and hope you get your pain and your back under control.
