Alprazolam (Xanax) Dosing

I have an extremely high tolerance to benzos

my question is do you find the benzo 'buzz' better when spaced apart?

e.g i usually take 5 or 10 mg xanax and then wait maybe 30-45 mins before repeating that dose but today i waited around 90 minutes or more and dosed 5mg and felt a whole lot more from my xaxax.

Any other expriences/ingo on this?

I experience the same effects (if I dose a 2nd time a couple of hours later instead of 45min - I feel it more). It would make sense considering the peak plasma concentration of alprazolam is typically achieved in 1 to 2 hours.

ive took many 'breaks' but they keep calling me back.

I think its called 'addiction'.

Im currently on sertraline 100mg per day in the hope this will make me feel 'normal' again.

My experience is for me is anymore than 5mg and i black out any less than 4mg and i dont feel shit.
It takes 15-30 mins for it to kick in and it peaks around 1 hour for me. If i space them out i feel less, i dont know why. I let them dissolve under my tounge.

If you are taking that amount of Alprazolam to get a 'buzz' then it is really not worth it in any way. I would get yourself on a taper as soon as possible and get down to a more tolerable amount and then treat yourself to a higher dose every now and again. That is what I do during my tapers, although it is probably not doctor recommended it doesn't seem to mess with the taper.

This is from the Benzodiazepine Conversion Chart in my signature

Alprazolam = 0.5 mg (anxiolytic; onset/time to peak: 1-2 hrs; 6-12 hr half life)

so redosing after around an hour should theoretically prolong the peak the best, but as with all drugs YMMV.
