Alprazolam with alcohol

I notice that my prescribed dose of benzos slightly lowers my alcohol tolerance. But I can still put away more alcohol than the average bear (like a literal bear we're talking). I'm more wary about getting past the point of no return when taking benzos. So I actually get less fucked up over all. I've since cut down to drinking 1-2 pints a night.

Some big risk factors for blackouts on the combo
1. Being overly excited about getting fucked up as an escape or a celebration
2. Drinking hard liquor, chugging beers, drinking contest\games
3. Having an empty stomach
4. Adding other drugs to the party

YEAH..As stated above don't overdo your drinking if you do decide to dose as benzos basically double the effects of alcohol. I swear every time I dose xanax or klonopins with a few beers, I get out of hand and within a half hour..I'm straight fuckin BLACKEDOUT wasted and wake up not knowing where I am lol....EVERY DAMN TIME.
 
1mg of Xanax with 1 beer is good. 2 beers are better - if you can stay awake that is.

By now you've probably already slept it off. Oh well, if you did, try 0.5mg Xanax next time. Good luck.

Benzos + alcohol = risk (not that I've never done it but it's still dangerous).

The dose from op sounds reasonably safe for most people but there is a chance that when you're a bit buzzed you'll say fuck it and take more. I'd suggest you leave the pills away from you just incase, have a friend with you and don't drink too much.
 
i liked 2mg of xanax with a botle of champagne and a couple o shots of gin to compliment it. Or a xanax bar and 3-4 liters of beer. But i think these dosages are quite unsafe for mostp eople
 
When mixing any benzo with alcohol do most people drink first then take their benzo of choice or do you take your benzos before you drink?
Does the order in which you take them have any real bearing on the end result?
 
^You're able to slowly titrate the alcohol much easier than the benzo, so I would say if you're committed to doing this you should take your benzo first, allow its effects to fully manifest, then drink slowly with the intention to stop when high enough, and not to exceed your pre-established alcohol limit. That last part is much easier said than done.

I mix it like this usually. First a good dose of benzo,then i drink, and then if i feel like i need more ipop more. Sometimes id eat a .5 football for every beer but thats nto very smart imo
 
Last night I took 1mg alprazolam, mixed with 5 drinks over the course of two hours. Then I cooked food & opened the second four loko & sometime before I finished that one I took another alprazolam. Started drinking around 8:15, memory is quite sparse after 1am. I guess I passed out sometime around 2 or 3. But at least I woke up in my bed & not the living room floor!


Though YMMV & if I hadn't taken the second alp, I feel the night would've been much more enjoyable/memorable.
 
Self-control doesn't factor in very well combining two drugs that have such a strong synergistic effect and produce incredible disinhibition.

I've seen people black out and do some of the craziest shit I've ever seen. It's really hard to not keep upping it.. Your tolerance with benzo's will go up super fast and before you know it you'll keep upping the dose until you take a tad bit too much and start playing drinking games or something stupid like that, and end up naked in the streets of a major city (yes, that last part has happened to someone I know... i.e. me, probably the stupidest thing I've ever done.) I've blacked out so many times on this particular combo even when I was trying to be safe. The disinhibtion is crazy powerful.
 
I did this for years! Theres a 20% chance of acting a fool when you do this. But you have a somewhat of an addiction problem that may increase your acting a fool to like 35%. But you will probly end up doing some ridiculous shit that may get you laid or may people think your a party superhero.

Yea, I'm going to have to second Venrak. The stupidest, most insane shit I've ever done was on benzo's and drink. Lost friends, hurt people, got in fights, got arrested, did stuff that is just plain embarrassing.

Probable craziest, weirdest drug experience I've ever had was on ativan and booze. I took a bunch of ativan for a cross country flight, got to the connecting airport, got super drunk with some random dude who kept buying me drinks cause he was super bored and wanted to get drunk with someone. I wake up in a state I did not intend to go to, I'm in a decent hotel, all my clothes are put away in the dresser and drawers (something I never do at hotels). I was tucked in, with my pj's on, like nothing happened. The last thing I remember is someone telling me I was too intoxicated to get on a flight. So weird. To this day I still do not know what happened. The fallout of that situation was pretty bad though. I couldn't get money to get to my intended destination, I couldn't afford the hotel after a few days, I was late for an important family event that my parents never forgave me for... So yea, booze + benzos, the Blackout Express.
 
I agree completely. It's just not worth the risk. I've had friends crash their cars, end up in the clink for fighting strangers, etc. Not had anyone die from that combo but it's entirely too easy to do so.
 
i really hope i'll never do this combo again.
last week i had 1mg alprazolam because i was nervous before a gig,
then afterwards a couple of beers.
result: i can't remember the evening and i probably acted like a jackass
