Alprazolam gel tabs - Need to split into lower dosages

Hey all -

I recently came upon these alprazolam gel tabs. They were presented to me as 2mg each; I've taken one and verified that the drug and dosage is more or less accurate. However, I rarely take Xanax at that high of dosage, and want to split them into lower dosages. They are extremely hard, and physically breaking them into pieces is not possible. I'm wondering which solvent would be most appropriate bring the alprazolam into solution. I contacted the seller who has no further information as to the contents of the tabs, and searching google did not yield any meaningful results. If anyone has any ideas/suggestions they would be most welcome.

Benzos aren't water soluble though.
