Allergy to Heroin. Okay to take Benadryl?

Bumped heroin for the first time the other day and I was very itchy. Used again today about 6 hours ago and it's uncontrollable itching. I know I'm allergic to morphine so I'm sure this is just a similar reaction. If i take a benadryl (orally) now do you think it will help with the itching? And if I use again later today will it increase my chance of o.d?

Yes it will help the itch. And yes, as there will be some drug left in your system, it is safer to dose the minimal amount required to reach your intended intoxicated level.

As to your other question, technically it can minimally increase your chance for OD, all 1st gen antihistamines can. If you have access, try to get your hands on some generic Zyrtec (cetirizine), or some Claritin (Loratadine), which are both 2nd gen antihistamines that don't really cross the BBB, that way your heroin high and its subtle opioid nuances won't be overshadowed by the cloudy 1st gen antihistamines, which do cross the BBB.

I would recommend 10-20mg cetirizine or 10-20mg loratadine, or 25-50mg if you must absolutely use Benadryl.

Are you actually allegic to morphine or you just get itchy? If you're allergic I think taking heroin is a really bad idea. Like way worse than just your average person doing dope for the first time.

But yes, since the itching is casued by histamine release an antihistamine such as diphenhydramine will help.

i wouldnt necessarily say you have an allergy to heroin, it's just a common histamine effect when IVing heroin, and yes benadryl will help, or Vistaril (hydroxyzine). i sometimes run into this (not all the time) depends on the batch of dope..its weird..

This. If you are allergic to morphine, stop taking heroin. When your tolerance goes up you will need to take more, and I'm 95% sure the anaphalactic response will increase with the dose regardless of previous exposures.

It is a reasonable assumption considering morphine is created through heroin metabolism.
