Pennsylvania, right up your alley...
What would be the most plausible reason that i would be allergic to Remeron? I have no other known allergies. I had major swelling in glands and extremities, red sunburn type sensations, and itchiness in the final days.

I would stop taking it.

Remeron is know to cause such things more often than other anti-depressants at any dosing regimen, even in tolerant users. It's rare still, but this means this drug is not fit for you.

Sounds like a allergic reaction of some sort. Id say stop taking it and go tell your doctor about it. I don't think remeron has any withdrawal effects or atleast it didnt with me.

Shit, i only took it once when i was having severe w/d's in prison. I'd never take it again voluntarily, it was horrible. Also had my heart rate sky high and i assume blood pressure. it felt like my wedding ring was going to cut my finger off due to the swelling.

i was more or less trying to find if there was a specific chemical reaction that occurs during the method of action or during metabolism that triggered the allergy. so as to avoid other allergies in the future by finding other drugs that produce the same set of characteristics.
