Allergic reactions

Hello everyone!

I just realized that most people (the responsible at least) do an allergy test when they first try out a new batch/ new substance, meaning they ingest a very very low quantity of it to see if their body responds in a dangerous way.

I was just curious, did you ever have an allergic reaction to any substance? What did you do in that scenario?

Maybe we could build a list of the most allergenic ones...

Personally, I have not yet encountered an allergic reaction proper, just severe side effects from some substances. but I am not what you may call experienced.

I was under the impression that this was mostly paranoia. It's certainly very very unusual, and i've never heard a story of it. However, it also will save you if you happen to by hypersensitive, or received a mislabled RC, so it's good to do, even if none of these things will ever cause a true allergic response.

The standard allergy test also starts so low that the allergic effects would be expected to be very mild, and you could abort the testing, and let it pass without problems.

I agree with TheAzo in that in reality the main reason for an allergy test is to be sure that you didn't get something with a substantially smaller dosage, very few people tend to be allergic to the chemicals they try - but given that it costs you a couple of mg at most, it's worth doing in all cases.
