I can't say my allergy problems have always been the most "normal". Ever since I was a kid, certain fruits like apples, pears, nectarines, apricots, peaches and plums would give me an itchy throat after I ate them. But these were never confirmed allergies. I've had a couple allergy tests done and the oldest showed significant allergies to soy and mugwort, the worst being to white oak (a level 4 out of 4 reaction). The most recent one showed nothing incredibly significant except a minor allergy to nuts. I suppose the white oak pollen in Oklahoma, when I used to live there, was my worst problem. 'Would wake up during the summer and sneeze repeatedly for literally a whole fucking hour.
But lately, things have gotten strange. My soy "allergy" is more of an intolerance now - rather than an allergy. It acts on me the same way caffeine does: it gives me anxiety. That's it. No more itchy, swollen throat, just anxiety.
I know allergies tend to change over the course of a person's life, but should I be worried?
Doesn't really bother me - in fact I'm relieved, but any information on this would be nice. Or share your own experiences with allergies changing over the years.
