Scared All the damage drugs did may kill me.. struggling heavy with physical health

Do you know what causes it? I’ve always just assumed it was high blood pressure
not sure what causes it

I've noticed that certain strains give worse tremors, some strains do not give it at all at any dose... so it must be one of the alkaloids, I just have no idea which

lithium makes the tremors a lot worse... so I suspect there may be some sort of connection there... but i have no idea

Ya, I’ve noticed the stimulating strains do it a lot more than the sedating ones.

kratom is known to actually have a hypotensive effect, it lowers blood pressure if anything

and it's stimulation is diffferent mechanism to caffeine

they are only related by genus, same plant family, but very different alkaloids
Really? I’ve had shakes and stuff from high doses of it, maybe I’m having a paradoxical reaction, but I find if I mix clonidine with it, it gets rid of all that

You’re wrong mate. Maybe in some it lowers blood pressure. The morning the first time this happened my boss drove me to the hospital and my blood pressure was 200/110.

The only thing I consumed that morning was Kratom and caffeine. Caffeine alone has never done that to me.

“Poison control centers in the United States received about 1,800 reports involving use of kratom from 2011 through 2017, including reports of death. About half of these exposures resulted in serious negative outcomes such as seizures and high blood pressure.”

Kratom is a dangerous substance. Especially when you’re taking extracts equivalent to 100+ grams of leaf.

im not wrong... if you google it there are plenty of results and evidence for both, and kratom is definitely more known for it's hypotensive effect overall, but either way it has unique complex pharmacology. nobody is "wrong"

by linking overdose, I assume you took some massive dose of extract? that's not a typical use and not a good example of any danger or any effect

lol kratom isn't a dangerous substance compared to actual dangerous substances... 1800 reports is actually very small. 5600 people die from tylenol each year with about 40,000 hospital calls.

I have heavily overdosed on kratom numerous times over 10 years and never once did I feel like I needed a doctor.

your experience wasn't a normal one

if kratom was truly dangerous the DEA would have nuked it into dust years ago when they had the chance

also just want to say that my bloodpressure is typically around 193/105 normally day to day sober, 200/110 is high, but not really life threatening or anything. 200/110 could be achieved by someone having a panic attack.

I actually have hypertension. Kratom does not make it worse.

Ok well my experience is my experience and it happened. I took Kratom began to feel weak in the legs, suddenly became unable to walk, had a nervous breakdown, went to the hospital and my blood pressure was so high they gave me intravenous clonidine .

Maybe it’s not typical but no other opioid has ever raised my blood pressure.

That morning I only took 2 black caps which is like 30-40 grams of leaf, not really ungodly

kratom is so much more than just an opioid, it's really not an opioid, it has a myriad of different effects and does many different things. There are 12-20+ chemicals that work together to produce it's effect.

it could have been an interaction

Maybe your both right, you just react to it differently than each other. Maybe nobody is necessarily wrong?

Good luck with that. If you’re 193/105 normally and someone who has a panic attack is around 200/110 as you say, you’re blood pressure is normally at panic attack levels.

My blood pressure fluctuates, but averages around 145/95. Sometimes it’s 120’s/80’s, but can be 160’s/90’s and I’m concerned about that and so is my doctor.

Are you suffering from any effects from having bp that high? That bp might not be life threatening in the moment, but I certainly would have to believe that at that level over many years, it will lead to serious problems.

Ya that’s really high to have as an average BP. My BP sits at 140/80 typically but in detox it was normally 180/100.

I use steroids though which is known to raise BP so for 140/80 I’m happy

What about the on and off again use of clonidine. It’s not supposed to be used that way if you are killer.

Can you pick up a blood pressure meter?

I’m not gonna tell you clonidine hasn’t negatively effected my blood pressure because it has. This wasn’t clonidine though the first time it happened I was on 0.1 mg twice a day.

I’ve been off clonidine for a few weeks only using it once or twice a week as needed.

Kratom did this to me, I know it did.

Other serious kratom side effects include:

  • Cardiac issues, such as heart attack, abnormal heart rhythms and high blood pressure.
  • Encephalopathy (brain disease).
  • Hallucination.
  • Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid).
  • Insomnia.
  • Liver damage and liver failure.
  • Rhabdomyolysis (A condition that leads to kidney damage when muscles disintegrate and release a protein into the blood).
  • Respiratory depression (difficulty breathing).
  • Seizure.

I really don’t need a blood pressure meter I can tell just by how I’m feeling. In detox the nurses would joke with me because I usually could guess it within 10 points on each side.

If I’m normal, not anxious it’s under 150/90, if I’m anxious or sweating or on edge it’s usually around 160/100 and when I’ve been wicked anxious or paranoid and detoxing it’s usually 180/100+ and I can tell just by how I’m feeling what it’s at.

I've had weird shit happening with my legs for the past several months. It manifests primarily when I'm coming down from stims or MDMA. When I get out of bed after lazing around for a while I get this really weird feeling in my head (not really dizziness) that I find hard to describe. When this feeling strengthens my legs start jerking back and forth with a high amplitude and then I fall. I've fallen more times than I can count. Luckily I haven't cracked my head open on furniture edges, but I have hit my head on the floor causing a pretty high flow of blood , and have gotten severe muscle pulls. I think this might be due to low blood pressure coming off stims? I'm not sure. Is low blood pressure even a thing coming down from stims? I don't get if from down-flavored drugs.

Now I'm pretty careful getting up. First I sit at the edge my bed for a bit. Then stand up and grab hold of a bedpost for a while. If I'm detecting the head feeling, I'm close enough to the bed to sit back down. Once I get the head feeling I know it's going to result in a fall if I start walking around. It's hard to walk around when it starts and I grab onto the nearest thing, but this doesn't really prevent the fall from happening.

Killer what I would recommend is getting off almost everything for awhile. It’s sounds like your trying to realign your system by introducing chemicals. I don’t think this will work.

I’d try and roll exercise, vitamins, sleep hygiene, alternative thinking and goals, stress avoidance and safely getting off the substances for a year or a bit more will reset your system. I don’t think your solution will be found in trying to tweak it further with chemicals.

My take is stabilize, drop the shit that destroys you and cultivate a functional use plan. But right now you need to heal and that means stop adding in variables into the equation.

Step back brother and settle ❤️

No symptoms really. Other than if I'm smoking meth or something.. then it becomes an issue I can get lightheaded and dizzy.

@OpiateKiller shit man, idk what to say.....I feel exactly the same way as you, I think we are even the same age iirc. (I'm 27), I've ravaged my body from all the years shooting drugs, snorting, smoking, etc. I empathize with you bro, you're not alone. I'm fighting a really tough battle with my mental and physical health atm too. I send you a big hug, brother

I stared having fits 12 years ago and yours sound like how mine started that's all

That’s terrifying man. Have they gotten any better or have you found any relief or way to stop them?

I have a doctor appointment tomorrow I think I’m just gonna tell her everything and ask them to test everything. MRI, blood work… the works
