All men play on 10 (METAL THREAD 3.0)

Gorguts - Obscura. Probably already been mentioned, but deserves another plug. Crazy, twisted, technical as fuck, just total insanity. Like DEP metal. Check it!

^ gorguts is pretty cool. i got some badass videos of theirs on the nuclear blast music video samplers.

On a side note, I'm seeing Behemoth this Sunday, with Cannibal Corpse, The Red Chord, Psyopus, and Job for a Cowboy. Hell of a goddamn lineup. Stoked for this one.

daaamn man, i take it that was the NYC show? I was about to go to that, since i was in the city all weekend, but had a 5 hour drive ahead of me. my friend tried to convince me to go all day long but i diddnt wanna have to stay int he city another night. bah shoulda gone, would have been a clash of NEMD titans.

Drummers drumming while helicoptering = super metal

Saw the guy from Behemoth doing this. It's great when it looks like their head may hit a cymbal.

wow... im so fing glad i can finally respect my once almost-favorite band again:

Nevermore | This Godless Endeavor

Wonderful release. I gave up on these guys after Enemies of Reality. EOR is not a "terrible" album, but relative to releases such as Dreaming Neon Black and The Politics of Ecstasy, I found it unlistenable. This Godless Endeavor is phenomenal, imo its not as good as Politics (just a personal fav) , but fuck does this thrash.

If you need some mean, hard, powerful thrash with some really epic, almost power-metal style vocals, get this cd. I am so glad I picked it up (reccomended by someone in here i think), and have listened to it about 5 or 6 times in the 2 days ive had it. The breakdowns are so hard and crunchy, itd make me headbang even if we were to suffer Ragnarok. Its back to the low end brutal guitar production that was good during the O'brian days (imo he is better with Cannibal though...), and that double bass thumping that will get your grandmother moshing.

Great album overall.

er, Wood...that CD is like, almost 3 years old, and I even started a thread on it not so long ago. But yeah, it's goddamn wicked.

I have WAY too much music on hand to even have 1/1000th enough time to listen to!

i know

i stopped listening to nevermore after they released Enemies of Reality

i gave up on the band, that album was terrible relative to earlier releases.

then i gave this godless endeavor a chance

i like nevermore again

twas all i was saying

I still think everyone needs to check out Cynic's (only) album Focus, it's my favourite metal album ever (and became so after like the third time hearing it). It's almost TOO good, in fact...

Very, very good stuff, I also highly recommend. I am a little partial to Atheist over Cynic, but excellent work all around.

Yeah, Atheist is astoundingly good too, but Focus just gets me like no other metal album. The opening to "Celestial Voyage" is ... undescribably wicked
