All About Preppin your Shot of dope (heroin)

I haven't shot in a little over a year, but as of then, when I copped and once I got to a safe place to shoot, IE a parking lot, or if we're feeling extra discretionary, back to the crib, from getting the bag open to the onset of the rush usually took about 2 and a half minutes, without any intervening bullshit, like speech.

You only use 15-20 units for a shot with a 1/4 gram in it? WTF?
 
When I was still in Michigan(now in NJ) I cooked up and shot while driving on the hwy. luckily there wasnt too many cars onthe road,but it was daylight and i was close to 80mph,I think. This was a long time ago. Early 90's

But regularly it doesnt take too long to cook and shoot,but does depend on what you got and I never really had to tie off ,just switched arms after 10 years. ShootingCrack always fucked me up after the first shot,then it was a fucking game of hit miss and getting all pissed off and wasting precious coke/crack. I guess my veins were spasming?
 
shit I do it at home, in the car, in a bathroom, wtfever. Ive booted up in a movin car lots of times. ive booted up my BF while he drove too. 8) It always takes longer when ur dopesick as a muh fucka and shakin all over. i can do my shit up fast as fuck tho, from beginning to end when i take the set outta my arm it can be superhuman fast where ppl are like WTF you done already?

Or if im takin my time then its longer obviously but when im sick ill snap my fingers and its done cuz i need that shit in my arm ASAP

BTW, I merged "how do you prep your shot" with "how long does it take you to prep your shot"

But not me. I take like an hour, to 2 hours, to prep my shot. I think about it, toy with the idea as I lay in bed, get on Bluelight for a bit. Then I'll take out my works, dump the dose in the spoon, ponder for a while, use the bathroom. Then maybe I'll go check my email. Then I'll draw up, get a drink, pop the bubbles out. I'll sit for a good 20 minutes from the time I'm all ready to go to popping the sucker.

Does anyone else procrastinate terribly with how they prep their shots, or are you a speed racer?

Wow, I cannot imagine this. From the moment I find a place to fix it takes about 4-5 minutes for me to cook down some tar and have it ready. Finding a vein is another story. Shooting coke is more like under a minute. I personally have never heard of people sitting around for 1-2 hours getting a shot ready. I just don't have the patience and being a junkie I just don't have the will power to sit there and stare and know there is dope there which should be in my arm. Checking emails and sitting around with a loaded rig for 20 minutes is crazy to me. Then again I guess you just aren't that much or bad of drug addict which you should be thankful for. This threads brings back memories of sitting in filthy downtown LA alleys trying to fix as quick as possible for fear of getting busted by the cops. Uhg, bad memories.
 
1-2 hours. No way could I sit on some dope or whatever for that long unless I was at work and couldnt get in the bathroom to shoot,but never on a regular basis could I wait that long. I thought I had patience compared to some junkies,but yeah 2-3 minutes once I find a safe spot to do it.
 
push the plunger fast helps too

I've heard of people that sit there and push the plunger a little bit and then in and out over and over. Like they are getting off on shooting,not the drug. I want the drugs,fuck playing with the plunger.

EXACTLY. i push that dope in my arm SO fast, and pople are usually like...damn, that was fuckin fast dude. it takes my peoples longer to snort a bag than it does for me to shoot one (or 2 or 3). I hate when people do a little bit, pull the plunger out again, push it like 1/4 of an inch, pull the plunger out again..etc...like I just wanna get high and I wanna get high NOW!
 
afaik pushing to hard/fast isnt good for your veins.
also using not enough liquid (water) isnt too
healthy either.
 
I take my time. But I don't go off and do other things. Takes maybe a minute or two for heroin, 4-5 minutes for pills. Except in situations where I'm low on stuff and keep trying to convince myself to wait a little longer so try to divert my attention.

If you count finding a vein as part of it (since that's technically the last part of 'preparing' to inject it), then since my veins are shot so bad it's typically another 10 minutes minimum, 90 minute record if I'm not dope sick; in which case it's straight into the femoral or jugular.
 
i dont bang my h but i can kinda relate to one of the first posters that said they take their time before they finally shoot up. I get so fucking excited when i cop my dope and its in my hand and that "high" lasts me for a while usually till i get home. Then heres the funny part i'll sit there and just stare at the H like i know i have to sniff you to get high but i dont feel like doing it. I dunno what it is, probably the nasty cuts and large amount i have to snort but i procrastinate snorting the shit forever. I dunno anyone else who does h that can do this just stare at a rock of it by there computer screen forever. I just wish there was a way to skip the ingestion and just be high
 
I don't rush to the point of not being careful, but I don't fuck around either. Sometimes I'll make sure I have good music on, but that's the only thing I take time to do before I shoot up. Dope takes #1 priority. I've never timed myself but I guess it takes like 5 minutes from start to finish.
 
Oxy - 4-5 minutes
Dilaudid- 5-10 minutes pills 1 minute if vials
Oxymorphone - 10-15 minutes have the make sure it doesn't gel up on me
Heroin - 1-2 minutes
 
The Ritual

The ritual is the rush...

get the packet, balloon, lottery ticket or bag, Go to your location, happy tremors, anticipation of the rush, put your tools on the counter top, the clank of the metal on the hard surface, pour the powder (tar) in the spoon, add the water, light the fire, cook the brew, smell the joy, dry heave a bit, drop the cotton, draw up the spike, thump the needle, push out the air, tie off the arm, spot the target, connect to the welcome vein, watch the rose appear, draw back the blood, push in the noise!!!
Ahhhh....sweet release and utter connection to every living thing...
for about 20 seconds.

When we quit the boy we miss the ritual too; not just the damn dope.
 
I never shoot myself up, my dealer always does it for me because I'm usually a snorter, but he does it so fucking fast. Like less than a minute to prep it. He doesnt heat up the shots either which I'd imagine takes a little more time.
