Alepam (oxazepam)

Hi all,

Sorry if this has already been discussed to withing an inch of its life but i just have a few questions and yes before you subtly tell me to UTFSF I must say that i have spent the last hour reading every post with any mention of Alepam in it lol.

I have a few anxiety issues, mainly in regards to large crowds of unknown people, assessment weeks, etc so after discussing this with my Psyc. he has scripted me 25 Alepam30 to try...

I have done the usual and gone through the equivalency charts to compare with other benzos and it appears the general opinion is that it i approx half the strength of good ol' Diazepam.

The only other Benzo that i take is Halcion (Triazolam)-and this is on a fairly rare occassion, tho a few months ago i did do a 50 night stint on it (please dont judge me lol) I rarely take to sleep easily, Hence the Halcion.

So realy what i want to know is why does Alepam has such a bad rap? to me it appears to work fairly well, even if i snap a tab into 15mg....It doesnt appear to have much recreational value to it, although most benzos dont i guess, yet for the purpose it seems to work fairly well.
Could anyone compare Alepam to any others in terms of its anxiolytic effects?

Just one more thing-if anyone has tried Alepam at a "recreational/abuse dose" i would be quite interested in knowing what their opinion of the effects were-i dont intend on doing this but it would be quite interesting to know what sort of dosage people have taken for fun and what the thought of it.

for anxiety I found that it worked brilliantly, even at half a tab. However, for getting high I would still favour valium over all benzos, and oxazepam gave little to no euphoria. it just gave the 'blankness of mind' feeling that benzos give.

I wouldn't say oxazepam has any worse of a rep than benzos do in general.

I'd say it's less popular on here because milligram for milligram it is weaker then diazepam yet usually comes in a smaller pack size. It also does not last as long as diazepam. I liked oxazepam, but since you don't get so many and I had a big tolerance that was a downside to it.

Some people just don't get recreational effects from benzodiazepines, others do. Even if you don't get 'fun' out of them, the anxiolytic effects can still lead to habituation problems.

I honestly can't remember as I was quite heavily addicted to benzodiazepines at the time, but I'm guessing it was probably most or all of a 25 tablet bottle.

I did 30mg I think, and I just had a bit of a crappy memory and I was tired as fuck. Never really thought of trying it again, I've heard really high dosages are nice.
Never was interested, wouldn't recommened anyone doing any high dosages.
