I understand that alcohol is an agonist at the GABAaR and an antagonist at the NMDAr, but I can't find the information on how it effects the 5HTr. Which subtypes does it effect or is it a general effect? Also is there any other receptors it effects directly or indirectly. Being the most common drug in the world you would think this info would be more readily available, but I guess not.

There is interactions between alcohol and serotonin levels in the body. To what extent, or via which interactional pathways I'm not entirely sure.

General use, there should be no issue. Even for those who bing-drink, well lets just say, there would be more important issues to worry about.

As usual, the major issues arise during poly-drug (recreationally or medicinally) use. And again, without more specific detail it's hard to comment too much.

If you're able to give some sort of context, I may be able to help / narrow or tailor the answer a bit better.
