Alcohol?

Hi. I've been reading this board for about a month now, and I've got a question for you guys.
Do you like to drink?
The reason I ask is I know quite a few users who won't ever drink. I've used quite a few substances in my days, but I still enjoy alcohol when I'm in the mood. I admit that I enjoy the high of other better things to that of alcohol, but its still quite a bit of fun.
So, do you guys like it? I don't nessisarily mean in combination with other drugs, but just by itself. Why or why not? (why or why not... sounds like an employment question doesn't it?)

I personally love drinking, moreso than anything else, at least at the moment. I used to be a lot more into drugs, and when I was I went through different stages, E, acid, but then I got sick of that and decided to quit, and then shrooms took over as my favorite pasttime until I got sick of that as well. Weed I never really enjoyed, and I did whippits and duster once and I must say those were the most intense and fun but due to the risks of both I will never do them again. So I'm left with drinking, which is always a great addition to any party. I just love everything about it, casually drinking beer, getting the buzz and enjoying that, and if I don't go too overboard, no negative effects and its very easy to sleep afterwards, as opposed to acid, shrooms and E.

Ick! Sometimes I will down a sex-on-the-beach if I am at a club, or Smirnoff once in a great while - but aside from that, I don't drink.. alcohol tastes like a gay peurto ricans asshole and will usually make me sick before I get drunk - in the end, I could have got the same type feeling from letting a few Klonopin disolve under my tounge..

Yeah I like to drink, but since I discovered opiates its changed.If I go out & am drinking with friends they're non-using friends. I never drink If I'm high though, that would just kill it.Oh & I get fucking horrendis hangovers & theres only one cure for that......

I hate hangovers, but they are gone so soon, if you take drugs you feel like shit for upto weeks...

Will alcohol really get you high and what is a good starting dose?
I am one of those drug users who's not into alcohol. It was cool for about 2 weeks when I was 15. I would fill an empty 16 ounce water bottle with a blend of the strongest liquor in my parents cabinet and drink until I couldn't remember the words to the Alice in Chains - Dirt album.
Then I decided I didn't like it. I got into real drugs and never had an interest in it again minus the occassional *small* social drink. I was never really into pot too much, either. I was literally doing just about every drug you could name, however, when I was a big user. At this point I basically stick to painkillers. Occassionally I'm down with meth, ice and coke, though.

The first few times that I really drank, I got a great buzz. Not long after, however, I got myself horribly trashed, and ever since then it's been a couple of notches down in my book. I'll still use it occasionally, but I definitely know when to stop.

I go out drinking now and then, it's a fun social activity. Sure I'd probably rather be doing drugs, but until I find a nice opium den that will let us sit around smoking opium and chowing down mushrooms going out to a restaurant and having a few beers is the best it's gonna get.

every couple months or so, ill get absolutely smashed. and then i wont drink tell the next time. i like alcohol, of all the drugs ive done, its got the strongest "just dont give a shit" vibe which is a pleasant escape from the world of responsibilities and self-protection....

Its not as fun as drugs, but in situations like a party with some close friends its better cause it last longer and its so social.

I have a midway sort of stance on alcohol.
I drink usually once, sometimes twice a week, and when i drink I usually get pretty fucking drunk, but hey, that's what college is all about, right?
Anyhow, I most definatly prefer other drugs to alcohol, but when its there, I'll take it. It can be fun, as long as its not overdone. I'd rather be having a harsh comedown on some other drug than puking my fucking guts out all night long, fighting passing out, stumbling, slurring, and making an idiot out of myself.
Its definatly one of those fun-to-a-certain-point kinda things for me. Its there, I'll use it, but its not high on my "this is what I want to do" list.

Most of the times when I drink I end up making an ass of myself, blacking out or going home with a stranger.I never know when to stop; I can consume safely most "hard" drugs, but when it comes to alcohol.... a very dangerous substance indeed.

i came to germany at the age of 19, so needless to say, i've been drinking hard sense. i cut back to only a couple of drinks a night when i shit out half a pint of blood a had a piece of my liver removed at 21. i'm about to give up drinking and stick with all my other drugs, it's safer for the body.

Alcohol is one of the few multi-purpose drugs. You can do it to relax, to sedate, to party, to forget, to enhance experiences, etc...

i drink, and like it...most wks about 3 nites a week. i may not get drunk every time, but i at least get a little buzz. Usually wine, i feel it just gives me the best warm, fuzzy feeling
