Alcohol withdrawl? tremors at the base of my skull, shakey hands...how do i fix this?

using gbl every day won't get you w/d when you quit. is using GBL every day -all day- what will fuck you up proper. believe me I know, and it's not fun.

hey man, i feel ya.. i got insomnia also..
ok, check this out..when you notace your hand shaking, flip it over and look at the back of your hand, and look at your fingers.. if you are still shaking, seek medical advice..

I'm working through alcohol withdrawal myself. I'm three days in w/o a drink, and two days before that with little to drink. I'm starting to feel normal now, but did experience the insomnia, the shakes, DTs- no hallucinations, but a general paranoia, I'm feeling ok now, but don't want to go back to social drinking yet.

Alcoholism, in my opinion is probably one of the most sinister addictions. Long term alcohol abuse can really screw up alot more than your liver. Ever hear the term "wet brain" used amongst alcholics? It's irreversible brain damage and they are pretty much retarded at that point.
It doesn't take long to develop shakes and the potential for DT's - maybe a few months of chronic heavy use - it's pretty scary really. And the people who make it through the withdrawal seem alot more whacked out in the head than an acid head while they are detoxing.
Just ironic to me that the most nefarious and dangerous addiction is almost promoted by our gvt. - but I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir.

Well, I've decreased the ammount and freqency of alcohol intake and the shakeiness of the hands only comes in the morning when I wake up. Today I drank a Citrona when I woke up and was fine for the rest of the day. I'm still waiting on some Xanax. I think the shaking was just because of a little binge I was on during the couple weeks before.

I get tremors in my neck, and my hands often get the "shakes," at the same time. I don't drink alcohol on a regular basis, but I do smoke cigs, and herb every other day usually. Now I'm all worried about this stuff. Should I be seeing a doctor about this?

That's what I meant... I used GBL from when I woke up until I passed out WHILE on GBL, everyday the whole summer... NO withdrawl... sorry to hear you did get it... sucks for you, i had fun :)

Wow 2 pages and no one has mentioned the option of not using booze to get to sleep. Now that is harm reduction! hehehehehehehehe
Really, if you don't like it...don't drink it anymore. That is sure to help the shakes. There are other options for the treatment of insomnia.
If you can't stop you need more than xanax.
