I just stumbled accross some PEA, and initially had some success with it alone (without any MAOI's). I began looking into ways I could potentiate it and extend the duration of effects, and read that MAOI's are the way to go. However, since I didn't have any MAOI's available - (waiting for hornedine to come in the mail), I read that alcohol / thc also dramatically potentiate the effects of PEA, even possibly more than any any other maoi is capable of doing.
So, today, I decided to take a pint of some IPA before a dose (1500 mg), and, holy shit does this work. 1500mg pea after the pint feels stronger, and is lasting nearly double the duration, as 3000 mg PEA with no tolerance on an empty stomach.
I'm posting this because in searching the internet, I found that the info on alcohol + PEA was sparse and I wasn't able to find much more than the fact that alcohol inhibits the breakdown of PEA, allowing PEA to enter the brain at approximately 4X the amount. In the name of HR, I would like to understand more about the interaction of these 2 substances, and how bad this combo really is for you.
I'm concerned because my heart rate got uncomfortably high, and some of the effects feel remeniscent of when I was on antabuse (disulfuram) and tried drinking alcohol: fllushed, hot skin, almost uncomfortable tingling, hypertension, and there is an aftertaste coming off my breath that taste very similar to the antabuse / alcohol combo - which leads me to believe there is a toxic byproduct resulting in the system from this combination.
If anyone could shed some light on the pharmocology / dangers of this combo it would be greatly appreciated.
