With absinthe, I've tried the EU/Swiss absinthe and the effects were similar to any alcoholic beverage. We (wife and I) got absinthe from Mex before the prohibition was lifted and the high similar to E in many ways.
Only visual change I noticed, though, was color intensification. Also, good aphrodisiac qualities.
Could have been a placebo effect but I didn't get that placebo effect with the european shite. I know now as I did then that thujone is presumably a GABA antagonist but who knows?With EtOH, at doses at, or close to those that cause the room to spin I've had what I would characterize as OEVs. Kind of like static or snow you see on tv but interesperesed diffusley through visual field. Don't know how else to describe it.
