my friend is having a party and suggested alcohol vaporization with a bike pump. is this even remotely safe? we will be using cannabis oil as well so instant hangovers aren't a concern if that is even a thing haha.
1. is it efficient (will the buzz last more than 5 minutes)?
2. is it easy to OD?
3. does it even work? ( probably should have been my first question)
I don't really know much about this other than what I've read online but we were talking about this in the "Alcoholic E-Cigarettes" thread which I think might have been in this sub forum though it might be somewhere else on bluelight.
First of all, yes, if done correctly it most definitely "works" in that it gets you very drunk.
There's a video of a guy doing it on youtube and there are actually vapor bars in a couple states or at least there were at one point.
I don't know how long the buzz lasts, my guess is it could last close to as long as any other ROA but I really don't know, maybe it's shorter acting.
But, from what I've heard supposedly it is pretty dangerous and much easier to OD than by drinking alcohol.
I looked it up online at one point and there was a video of a doctor talking about it (yes, there are a million doctors with different opinions so he could be wrong or even a fake but nevertheless, it might be some evidence)...and he said he thinks this is very dangerous for a few reasons:
1) the alcohol bypasses the liver, hitting you instantly, and because you aren't swallowing it your body doesn't have it's natural defense mechanism to get rid of the poison, which is to throw up. So basically, you could vape tons of booze really fast, more than the amount that would normally make you puke, but hold it down, and that might be bad.
2) there's no real way supposedly to tell how much booze you are vaping. Like, from what I heard (could be wrong, again, I don't know...) SUPPOSEDLY you could pour, say, 10 shots of whiskey in a forty ounce bottle and cork it and start vaping, but that liquid would remain in the bottom of the bottle the whole time.
So you could just keep vaping over and over, but at no point would you really be able to know how much of the alcohol you had vaporized out of the liquid and you'd have no idea how fast your body was taking in the alcohol.
So basically, you could just be chugging 10 shots in 2 minutes without any ability for your body to puke it up.
3) alcohol is very bad for your lungs, could possibly cause lung damage
4) this doctor said that the alcohol could potentially flood a person's lungs
So, yeah, I don't know if any of this is really true, not sure if anyone does for sure, and I know people have done it and been fine, so I can't say how dangerous it is, but I think it's probably pretty likely that it is more dangerous and easier to OD on than drinking alcohol.
I'd say just be careful if you are going to do it at all and don't put large amounts of alcohol in a bottle that you are vaping out of.
That's what I'd do: basically, don't put more in a bottle to vape than you would drink in one shot...so if you would only take 4 shots in one sitting, don't put more than 4 in the vaporizer.
Also, I would probably wait EXTRA long between vaping more to fully feel how drunk you are to be sure you don't over do it.
Just my 2 cents, I could be wrong.
Edit: One other thing I heard that could be wrong. I was interested in this because of the fact that I thought there would be no calories in doing it so you could drink all you want and not get fat.
However, I heard in the same articles I was reading that that is not true, and that when doing this you consume calories, almost as many as when drinking. I don't understand how it's possible that vaping anything could make you gain weight or take in calories however.
Nevertheless, it's what I heard though it might not be true.
If true, there isn't much upside to this, however, I think I did hear that you don't get a hangover when you do it.
