Misc alcohol swab AFTER injecting

I couldn't find this answered anywhere and hope its not too dumb of a question.
Why is it "so bad" to use alcohol swabs on a site AFTER injection?
 
alcohol increases bleeding. it is perfectly fine and maybe even a good idea to swab after injection. just don't use it as a compress as it may be counter productive. just use something dry and sterile for that.
 
^^exactly, typically i use hydrogen peroxide

its painless and doesnt increase bleeding, while disinfecting of course
 
There is nothing "bad" about cleaning the site post injection. It really wont do anything except clean the skin.

The reason to clean the site prior is to help prevent any contamination from ending up in your bloodstream/tissue ect.
 
i wonder if anyone has tried to inject a cleaning product in an attempt to disinfect themselves..maybe this is thread worthy lol
 
^^ I hope thats a joke. When I used to shoot very often I would use rubbing alcohol pads before, then just a cotton ball and warm water after. I don't really see the need for alcohol after a shot. It's not really bad unless you're quite a bleeder (from what I have seen/experienced).

That was clearly a joke.

Even the most degenerate shit-chizzle would realize - without a single conscious thought (they don't have many of those lol) - that injecting such a thing as rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide would be a "vurry bad idee-ra, hyuck oops shit m'self".

A bad idea, that is...if living is the person's ultimate goal.

If a pervasive death wish has replaced said goal to live, then IVing disinfectant solutions sounds...sensible. In a masochistic, backwards-thinking sort of Wang-Chung.
 
There are alcohol swabs with more or less alcohol on them, depending on which brand you use.

It's better to use a saturated alcohol pad before injecting, and a non-saturated one after injecting. The saturated alcohol pads are enough to encourage the bleeding, whereas the non-saturated ones are just fine to use IME.

Since this is could have been discussed in other threads, and because it got derailed, I'm going to close it.
