Alcohol Replacement

I can't believe no one has mentioned MDMA. While you can't use it every party you go to, it's great for parties once a month or so. If you want the feeling of MDMA but have something you can use more often, there's mephedrone, methylone, and MDAI. MDAI is especially easy on the brain, and mixed with a stimulant, can feel quite similar to MDMA. It is also nice mixed with kratom imo, and possibly opiates, although I've never tried that.

Yes I am in the US. Also in a college town...so when chatting up chicks at a party and they ask what i'm drinking...i say i'm drinking some GHB...you know how that will come off lol.

Ah. I see your dilemma quite clearly now =D. Silly bitches.

Ugh I hate alcohol. Funny thing is that from 18-21 I drank just about everyday and I suffered withdrawals when I quit drinking. I did it socially and by myself. I ended up in rehab but I was also using other drugs, mainly other sedating things like benzodiazepines and opiates. But anyway, now 6 years later, I absolutely hate the stuff. I won't have anymore than one drink when I happen to be at a club or something. I can't handle the taste anymore either. I used to love the taste of alcohol. So I don't know what happened!?

Ya man, I'm in a pretty similar boat over here. I drank heavily ( albeit at a much younger age, more like 14 - 18 ). Around 18 I made a major switch to 'drugs' (pretty much every drug other than ethanol), and never looked back. Even now, being all caught up in the court system and therefore regularly attempting periods of sobriety, I still don't crave alcohol and am pretty disgusted by it whenever I try it.

I just don't believe all that AA stuff of, once addicted, always addicted. I mean sure, if you drank heavily enough and long enough ( talking decades here ) to the point where your brain knows no other experience as normal, it might take about a lifetime to reverse. But fuck, its sure as hell not an absolute, universal rule.

I'm really interested in the mephedrone, i've been checking out some online vendors. This seems like it would mix very well with other pharmaceuticals.

What is the legal status of mephedrone in the US? Is it a legal grey area?

Eh, I believe its fully legal if not purchased or stored 'for human consumption'.

The only conviction I could see coming through would be for the courts to use the first ever (I think) application of the Analogue Act, as Methcathinone is Schedule I. But is 4-Methylmethcathione truly an Analogue of Methcathinone? I know not the definitive confines of an Analogue.

Mephedrone is pretty solid all by itself, I would think the only place on the timeline where pharms would actually add to the experience would be the comedown, the same way you would use them with MDMA. Otherwise I have a suspicion it would just dull the effects a bit.

It's vague for a reason, the DEA likes it that way.

Amphetamines are very social in general, nearly everybody in my "partying" group of friends uses them at parties. That, cannabis and alcohol. Some benzos sprinkled in. Benzos are just as social, if not more so, as alcohol is.

As for kratom, I wouldn't even bother. If your drug of choice is opioids, kratom is so pathetically weak you will probably never enjoy it. I never did.

Couldn't be more wrong. Your subjective negative experience shouldn't negate kratom's efficacy.

I would question your source, the quality of leaf, the type of leaf (superfine or crushed?), the strain of kratom (and whether it works for you as there are many variations of it, some work for some, some dont work for others), your method of ingestion and how empty your stomach was.

There are too many variables with Kratom to just rule it out as ineffective. I wouldn't have spent thousands on it if it was useless.

Of course, some people simply find it useless....but I wouldn't totally rule it out for the OP as i think it's a perfect candidate.

I quit a really heavy drinking addiction (physical) on my own after famous rehab in MN didn't work. After I quit when I wanted to be in your situation and be talkative and pleasant without booze I would chew up one or two DHC Continus 120s and drink coffee. It really makes me feel good but not really high and most people who knew me as the drunk are pleasantly surprised by my company. Never felt hangover (although it's hard to sleep sometimes) and current tests show my formerly ailing organs (pancreas & liver) are okay. I wouldn't do it every night, though.

I've tried Phenibut a few times but had the powder and no accurate dosage measurement and I usually ended up lethargic and tired.

Second part first: I couldn't find it anywhere but online and I spent the better part of an afternoon on the phone searching around town. I think the most likely place you'd find it in person is at a bodybuilding products place. It's on the website of GNC but none of the GNCs around here had even heard of it. "Ya mean Fenugreek?" was often the reply.

My best friend quit everything about a year ago and went through a "treatment" program in mpls (don't know if I should say the name) that pretty much dismisses the whole steps/higher power approach and instead deals with nutrition and chemistry. The program recommends Phenibut for opiate addicts and alcoholics (along with a highly specialized diet and other supplements). He definitely says it "works" and often is the only thing that helps him keep it together on a high-stress day. He takes about 3 grams in the morning (I take about 1 and fall asleep). He said it doesn't make him really feel high, but much better than sober.

I've also heard its effects in combination with other things are notable, though I've also heard with alcohol it causes a massive hangover. In either case, it appears that continued overuse and associated withdrawals are extremely negative, having seen my friend on Day 5 after 4 days on it and he didn't look or feel good. The length of its effects are such that he is experimenting with different times and dosage.

I understand that it's been used in Russia for some time for a variety of ailments but I'd like to know more about it. I assume it works well enough that someone will want it banned as its popularity increases...

Anyone who happens to read this thread, and feels like things can never change - for example you will never not crave opiates or your DOC, just remember that as humans we can always adapt and change. I don't give in to all that "once an addict, always an addict" propoganda.

Anyway, I got drunk for the first time the summer of 7th grade going into 8th grade. Ever since, I got drunk every weekend and loved it. I loved partying, meeting new people, and trying new drugs.

Now I am about to turn 21, go to college in a big party town, and don't like drinking at all anymore.

My DOC is Opiates, and I used to be the guy at the party who was friends with everyone, getting really wasted and high, and able to chat up anybody.

Now when I go to parties, I can't get really drunk anymore and generally don't have a good time.

I have been thinking of maybe making an opiate type drink that I can drink all night and have fun, but do you bluelighters have any other suggestions for me?

Be Safe Everybody..

best bet is to just get back into alcohol. i'm just like you tho. sophomore year of college i hated alcohol, and got pretty heavy into opiates and other drugs. i still drank from time to time tho. now that i'm 21 i've really learned to appreciate alcohol a little more. you don't have to binge on it all the time, but just having a few every now and then with a lil weed can be really relaxing. also, going out and getting drunk is a great way to meet and hook up with girls, which is why alcohol has it's advantages at this point in your life. i did opiates at a party once and people just kept commenting on how my eyes looked fucked up. you can still do opiates, just do them on the side and dont let them interfere with your nights of getting drunk.

i'm pretty high right now so not sure if any of that made sense sorry
