Alcohol. How can a drug this hard, be so accepted? puni

Fuck anyone who has the audacity to down my shit, yet praise alocohol or weed just because it's "socially accepteable". A shot of dope for me, or a shot of whiskey for him; to each their own.

Alcohol is most certainly a drug, arguably one of the worst drugs out there.By definition a drug is anything that effects the functioning of your body systems.I don't judge or down anyone for what they choose to do and don't really give a shit if someone downs me for my choices of intoxicants. My thing is downers in their various forms. My favorite is the benzo, opiate, liquor combo.Barbs used to be a fave but you can't really find the good ones anymore,at least not in the US.Would love to try Quaaludes but I guess I missed that train.Sigh.I personally don't understand how lawmakers and judges put people in jail for drugs yet go home and drink glass after glass of liquor.I think it boils down to alcohol is what the powers that be are into so that makes it okay somehow.Total hypocrisy.

Alcohol isn't the worst drug, alcoholics are just the worst kind of addict. It is extremely safe in recommended doses with little long lasting after effects, the only downside is a small minority fight, crash cars and have unprotected sex with ugly people. 95% of the population can have a glass of wine with dinner every night and not punch their wife. Daily heroin use is not as forgiving

Because it makes NO sense and if you have sense you know...that it makes no sense. Nonsense to be exact.

Benzos, opiates, and liquor is amazing… until it kills you, which wont be hard to do (witnessed it first hand and almost was the victim of that mixture too o.o). All those depressants is a no no.

I only really drink beer for the taste if I've already got opiates and bennies, you drink 1 or 2 beer instead of 5 or 10 lol.

^Yeah well I thought it was always a good idea (of course not but I didn't care) to drink vodka on heroin and xanax. Welp. That was quickly mythbusted.

Addiction, addiction....
When you get an alcohol addiction, you're most likely stuck with that for the rest of your life. The damage to your brain and liver are also terrible.
The first part you name is a good thing, people having broad view and looking at things from a different perspective.
Also addiction and dependance are two different things, but making a daily drinker stop will already cause increased blood pressure and discomfort.

Surgeon general warning 2015 edition -
Ethanol
Side effects DO include - Increased murder rate. Vehicular Manslaughter , Total GABA imbalance , Panic,
doubts of severe depression, DT's , incarnation, severe addiction ...oh and ya birth defects and some liver damage.

I don't know, it boggles my mind that people don't really consider it a drug and kinda seperate it from drugs, such as the commericials " If you have a problem with drugs OR alcohol " was always like wtf with that one. Sure there are people who can have a drink or two and be fine, then you have your viloent drunk, the drunk who is functional and hides it while drinking from waking till sleep(these will most likely die from damage from the alchohol), the party binge drinking crowd...then all the car accidents caused by drunk drivers, alcohol poisoning (aka an OD), a hangover(aka you are 'coming down' from alchohol.) And if you are unfourtunate and grew up with a violent drunk...it gets bad. But yes, I do agree they should put some more warning labels on alcohol products instead of what they have now, don't think it should be made illegal or anything, but I do think it needs to be looked at as a drug instead of "Drugs or Alcohol" because, well, it's a fuckin drug. And not saying go out and do Meth and heroin instead of alcohol to people, but on the show Intervention(could be wrong) but the only people who died on that show were the people who were drunks...and it was so sad, watched this documentry on NatGeo about a guy who was addicted to alcohol, his body was shutting down(was 28), seemed like a very caring nice guy. Well went to rehab and died 17 days later from the damage the booze had already done to his body...oh, not to mention that it is THE DATE RAPE DRUG. Sure people may spike a drink every now and again, but a lot of rapes involve JUST ALCOHOL.

Edit: I do enjoy a dessert drink every now and again, or a drunken fun night with some friends once in a blue moon, but really besides that I can't stand the shit. I enjoy other Gaba drugs, but the hangover, regretting things you did/said the next day plus what feels like the worst re-bound anxiety ever plus the deppresion and being sick as a dog...just no thank you for me. Hand me some Benzo's or some other Gaba drug for my Gaba fix, Opiates, or some kind a stimulant if it's a night out on the town(never had a prob with stems). But anyway, just think their should be more warning labels on the bottle and people stop saying "Drugs OR Alcohol".

Hard alcohol vs soft alcohol is a big player in all of this in my mind. Also Craft vs Use/Abuse. Not something I can get too into now.

All I can think to add at the moment, society is fucked. Do what is better for you.

Somebody might I've said something similar, but here's my 2 cent...

- Enjoying a hit of marijuana once in a while, i.e., once a week or less, is somehow better than downing 2-3 beers/shots a day for overall well-being and good health.
- But for a medium-built man in good health, downing 2-3 beers/shots daily is still better than toking weed every single day, which fucks up clear thinking, memory and overall well-being in its own kind of way, imo...
- Yet, drinking even a little more than 2-3 drinks daily, not to mention heavy drinking, can fast become ALOT worse regarding health and social relations, among other things, than toking daily, even heavily...

So... it's all a question of dose, of substance, and intake frequency... Nasty side effects of overuse are much different for booze and ganja, booze being much worst when overused. Still, daily use of pot ain't exactly wise and wholesome...

Anyway, I think both can be much enjoyed in moderation, for then they greatly enhance human experience. And.... as far as I'm concerned.... getting seriously hammered a few times during the year (for me always less than 10 in a full year to avoid grave long-lasting mental and physical injuries lol) is also enjoyable, even a valuable - although nonessential and dangerous - part of human experience...

Of all the mind altering things Alcohol is by far the worst. Dont get me wrong, you normally cant OD on it (you can, but its hard to do) so the drugs that can kill you from an OD are worse in that respect but those people that do heroin or something like that dont have any intention of going anywhere(normally) Stoners, the worst thing that will happen to them is someone will rear end them because they are going 25 in a 40 zone :) And that will be the other guys fault :)
Meth and coke, meth is only a problem when you've been up for several days, otherwise you can function, coke...waste of time when you can take meth lol Crack? Dont know, never done crack but all I ever see a crack head do is zone out. While these impair you, none of them impair your thinking, motor functions and reaction times more than alcohol. I'm a retired truck driver so I've done my share of driving. The only mistake I make if I'm driving stoned is miss my exit off the freeway :) More people should take a toke before driving, there would be WAY less road rage, way less aggressive driving, you dont care about not letting that guy in at the cost of running into the car in front of you when in traffic because he might get there 20 ft sooner than you. Traffic would flow better :) Do you realize that when you're in traffic and you fight to NOT let that car in or fight to be that guy trying to get in is what makes the traffic worse? If you lay back and roll and just let the guy in, because everyone has to merge ANYWAY, traffic will flow instead of slam to a stop every 20 ft. Try it next time you're in slow traffic, leave enough room in front of you and go slow enough so that when you close the gap to the car stopped in front of you they start moving before you get there so you dont have to stop, let them speed ahead, keep doing that so you never actually "stop" and traffic will flow better. If someone wants in front of you, let them, its literally 20 whole feet, thats like 1/6th of a seconds time lol :) Ok sorry got on a traffic rant, be a stoner, everything is fine :)

When alcohol is abused it is absolutely brutal on your body. I will never forget one of my rehab stays. There was this man that had been a alcoholic for 20 years. Drinking everyday. He was detoxing and it was brutal. He was hallucinating for 4 days.
He called me into his room at one point telling me he needed a boat to get out of his room because the riif was leaking and the room was filling up with water.

Luckily they were giving him Librium so that he would not have seizures. I really thought that he was not going to make it. This withdrawals can literally kill you.

I love giving the cashiers hell at the local pharmacies...you know, the ones who remove cigarettes, yet still sell beer, but preach about "caring for our health".

I've lost a few friends to overdose and a few to cirrhosis and alcohol withdrawal seizures. I'd have to say that the ones who died from cirrhosis and the alcohol seizures really, really suffered.

It just amazes me how alcohol is more socially acceptable.

I think everyone who has used other drugs recognize how stupid it is to be accepting of alcohol but not other drugs. Unfortunately our culture has evolved to bashing all drugs except alcohol, and most people refuse to ever experience other drugs for themselves. Their illegal status also increases the risk or drug experimenting far beyond their natural risks (which I don't care how much you love drugs, is not zero).

It's a shame that we have growing scientific knowledge that shows many illegal drugs to be safer than alcohol, but politicians don't listen. The status quo is to be anti-drug.
