Here in the U.S its advertised as if drinking beer eqates to being a try American. Shit, its almost acceptable to be an alcoholic but if you say you are addicted to.something else you are looked down on. Like you are trash. Fucking hypocricy.

Alcohol is woven into the fabric of society. The social and economic fabric. Plus, it's virtually impossible to control; [probably] any fruit or vegetable can be fermented!

Good point but harm reduction re: alcohol is far more lax than that of any 'hard' drug that very well likely does far less physical harm.

No shit dude, I'm from Bavaria, Oktoberfest anyone? in my younger days many kids around me got wasted on booze regular. Thank god the 12 year olds start switching to cannabis nowadays.
