Alcohol first time question.

Hello everyone, I'm an 18, almost 19 year old male and have never felt the Alcohol buzz before and I would like to try it. I have an aged bottle of Jose Cuervo that belonged to my grandfather that I asked my father for. So he gave me about 2-4 ounces and told me how to drink and enjoy alcohol (We weren't drinking it together as it was morning)

So basically I have a 2-4 Oz of Tequila that i'm thinking of mixing with a 7Up or something.

Also, due to Scoliosis correction surgery i'm prescribed Norco 10-325 two tablets every 4 hours so I got lots of opiates and I hear that's dangerous. I actually take 3 to 4 tablets anyway because I like to nod :| How much should I cut down on the Hydrocodone before drinking?

And the most important question, will the amount I've stated give me a buzz?

Thanks BL

-Brian C.

If you have never had a drink before. 3 oz should give you a nice buzz. Watch out with the norco though those and any other opiates can be dangerous when mixed.

Well, you seem tolerant to the opiates, it is the APAP in the Norco I would worry about combining with alcohol. You are consuming a lot of APAP daily as it is, which is a hepatoxin (liver toxin), as is alcohol. It is generally advised to avoid mixing APAP and alcohol at all, and the doses of APAP you are taking are as I said, high, in fact I would look into a CWE even if you don't consume the alcohol, for the sake of your liver. In harm reduction, I advise not to drink at all, and seriously look into CWE'ing your Norcos.

Personally, I would use the 2-4 ozs you have straight and 7-up as a chaser. I'm familiar with Jose, compliments of my fiance being hooked on it lol. But that's not really a *lot*.
As for the hydrocodone, I'd avoid it for right now since this is your first time and wait to see how you feel after about 30-40 minutes of your last shot of alcohol. If you REALLY need your pain med, try just one.
Have fun, but not too much ;)

Just cut out your narcos for the day and drink.
It's not necessarily the opiates + the alcohol as it is the APAP or tylenol that can fuck up your liver when mixed with alcohol.
If you havent had a drinking experience, it would not be wise to throw opiates into the mix.
Many-a-nod has been disturbed by panicking because i thought i wasn't breathing.
If you get a tolerance to alcohol, then it's cool. Probably CWE that shit(20-30mg?), and get a crucial cross fade.

^^^ Really good advice! I'm currently in a liver scare, bad blood work, bc of APAP. Look into CWE if you're gonna keep takin that many.

Ok so would it be safe to drink the Tequila after say, 8 hours after my last Norco/APAP dose? I last dosed 4 hours ago and today my Acetaminophen amount was 1125-1300mg. I know the max daily dose is now 3 grams.

How would flushing my body out with water to cleanse my liver and kidneys do?
Should I shot it like one person said and use 7up as a chaser or make a mixed drink with it?
And if I make a mixed drink. how long should I make my 2-4 oz last?

I'm also extremely bad doing CWE's. Even the shitty 5 minute ones I fuck up because I don't know if I did it right.

APAP + alcohol is a bad combination
You are still new to alcohol - Save your Liver! don't start drinking by drinking and taking tylenol at the same time. Your liver will doubly hate you if you do that

If you really want to drink while you take the norcos then please look up how to do a Cold Water Extraction! Do not drink while taking APAP!

As said, very good advice. Though for safety reasons I would advise to just avoid the opiates for the day (if possible, of course-in terms of pain level). I would do a bit more research before making a decision to avoid potentially putting yourself in danger. Hope all goes well.

I think if you truly are in pain, the alcohol can help. Listen to everyone else, APAP & alcohol = fuQt up liver.

almost 19 and never tried liqour yet your doing opiates, crazy world!

Liquor should be really great at first but I reckon it's got a honeymoon period like nearly all drugs, you should enjoy a few shots your first time though :) Takes the edge off of everything and makes you less shy ofc!

Be careful mixing downers with downers though, and as some people have said, I recommend you maybe only doing 1 or 2 norcos max that day so that you don't get any liver damage (though 1 time won't do shiet ;0) cause the tylenol in it + alcohol is supposed to be super bad :)

Someone says alcohol kills pain; is this true? because these painkilers don't work very well :/

alcohol can certainly take your mind off pain as a very short term fix but that's not a road you want to go down - if you're black out drunk your pain probably isn't bothering you but when you wake up, boy is it only going to be worse.

Using alcohol to treat pain is an EASY way to become an alcoholic.
Not to mention again that you DO NOT want to mix alcohol and APAP so co-administering it with opiates that contain APAP is bad news for your liver!

seems kind of odd because most people i know go from alcohol >pot > benzos > opiates..

opiates give the best high out there IMO, i only drink alcohol went it's offered or i can't find any other drugs. it's just so dirty, i like the calming sensation it gives me, but i always feel sloppy, and depressed/anxious towards the end
