Long story short I am going to a party on New Year's and likely going to get pretty drunk.

I take 250mg of Lamictal, 200mg of Seroquel, and .5mg of Klonopin. This is for Bipolar and Anxiety. I'm wondering how safe this is, if it is safe at all. What should I do? Should I skip my dose that day? Drink less? Will this shit kill me? I dunno.

I've drank on all of them.before but probably would be safer if you skipped the benzo and seroquel if you plan on getting super drunk.

my advice is to maybe skip the benzo for the morning but not the seroquel; anti-psychotics are prescribed to be taken every day (unless you get a shot). you should just drink less, and you really shouldn't be drinking that much anyway, it could send you down a cycle.

how long have you been taking the lamictal and seroquel? have you gone out drinking on them before? when i was on lamictal i would get drunk very easily and it seemed to hit me all at once. i would skip the klonopin, take long breaks in between each drink (like longer than you'll want haha), and let a friend know you're on medication that increases the effects of alcohol. on that combo of meds you'll still get drunk even if you drink significantly less than others

This is what a doctor has told me.

Wait 6-8 hours after taking a benzo to drink. You may still notice it hitting you harder, but is not dangerous.

Seroquel and alcohol have no dangerous interaction. But, what is the point of taking together? You take seroquel during the DAY?? How do you stay awake. I thought its usually perscribed at night. Are you on the extended release or instant?

This combination is not dangerous but usually id think go out and drink, then take it when you go to sleep. Maybe an hour per drink betweeen.

It is never a good idea to skip meds.

Drinking on benzos in general is a bad idea. Clonazepam is relatively long-acting and at that dose, you might be able to skip a day or at least wait until sobering up before taking it. How does your benzo / alcohol tolerance look?

Just FYI, here are some numbers I came up with for your clonazepam dose:
  • Daily: 0.5 mg
  • Amount in you 24 hours after a dose: 0.82 mg (oral equivalent)
  • Amount in you after a 0.5 mg daily dose: 0.82 + 0.5 mg = 1.32 mg (oral equivalent)
That's assuming a 35-hour half-life and 24 hours between doses. I'm not sure if that helps any, but I thought I might as well run the numbers.

Well i am prescribe pretty much the same combo just in different doses. I am on 200mg's of lamotrigine, 300-400mg's of Seroquel, 6mg's of clonazepam and 300mg's of Wellbutrin for bipolar disorder as well as anxiety and SAD. If i don't take the Seroquel i can still drink alot or alot for how often i drink thewse days which would be a half bottle of more of Whiskey or Rum and still act soberish. The seroquel does interact with alcohol in a negative way despite what some people think and drinking with benzos is generally not a good idea. Given the half life of Clonazepam you might want to not take it within a 12 hour period of when your going to drink. Definitely take it the next day though as having too little of a benzo in your system after drinking can cause a seizure.
