Hey, I'm hoping this is the correct forum for this question. I am curious about the extent of the effects that alcohol has on Triglyceride levels. From what I've gathered high enough Triglyceride levels for long enough times is one (?) of the causes of liver damage. I'm asking because I'm a fairly regular drinker and recently began acne treatment with accutane, which also boosts triglyceride levels, if I understand correctly.
I've asked my doctor and I was told that liver damage was unlikely by combining the two but that should the triglyceride levels rise to a point, I would have to stop the medication. That seems like a pretty vague answer and I haven't been able to find any extensive information about the subject online. I realize this bb is based largely on illicit drugs, but there seems to be plently of knowledgeable people around here and I was hoping someone might have some more insight or personal experience. If this is out of place on this board, I apologize.
