Alabama Next To Ban JWH-* (Spice, K2)
http://dopegamenews.com/?p=336

While California is on its way to legalizing marijuana, many states are taking action against new “synthetic pot” that is sold as aroma therapy insence.

Alabama is next in line to outlaw synthetic cannabinoids.

Alabama State Representative James O. Gordon introduced a bill on March 29th that would make JWH compounds and salvia illegal to buy or posses .

If passed, Alabama will be the third state to ban the substances.

In the past two weeks Kansas and Missouri have passed similar legislation.

What the hell is the point of these bans? I'm pretty sure these moronic legislators know nothing about the substances. Most likely they're sticking to the tired 'drugs are bad because they're drugs' argument. On the plus side for them, now they can scramble to arrest people for crimes against no one and wonder where to stick the new prisoners. These people are so up their asses.

This is why I'm so interested in what's going on across the pond. We have no such thing as a scientific body constraining the criminalization of psychoactives; the UK at least has a tug of war between science and politics.

We will transition to a technocracy eventually, in the same way that we transitioned away from theocracy. Not in my lifetime, I don't think.

Unless Gary Johnson can somehow win the presidency in 2012 or 2016.

If I lived in one of these states I would set up a rally of people smoking JWH 17 or something else legal to let them know that they will never win. If they want to win the closest they can get is trying to ban anything people get enjoyment/utility out of and that won't be easy to enforce...
