Hello members.
was addicted to heroin (smoked) from 1998 to 2004. In 2004 requested professional help at a specialized center where he entered into a maintenance program with methadone with a dialy dose of 140 mg. Since 2004 was going to the medical center every Monday to collect seven doses for a week. Now has decided to request the gradual withdrawal. From 140 mg. to 60 mg. the center decrease 10 mg. every two weeks. From 60 mg. to 15-10 mg. the doctor decrease 2'5 mg. every two weeks and from 15-10 mg. to the total withdrawal medical center decrease 1 mg. every two weeks. It means a long time from the initial dose to the total withdrawal. And although they do gradually withdrawal symptoms will be presented ( has seen it in otherwho were in retreat).
The help-drugs can get to ease the withdraw are clonidine (in 0'150 mg. oral pills), loperamide (in 2 mg. caps), Valium 10, Xanax 2 mg., lormetazepam 2 mg., OTC analgesics and muscle relaxants such as cyclobenzaprine (in 10 mg. caps) or tizanidine in 4 mg. pills (tizanidine is alfa2-adrenergic agonist as clonidine) also can get OTC hypnotic (doxylamine 25 mg. pills) and OTC anxiolytic which is hidroxizine.
How do you recommend use the help-drugs in the offset of methadone?
